Fresh Catch Just Landed! 📍 Ferndale 📍
On deck this week at Barlean’s:
• Troll-Caught Columbia River King – cedar plank it or make a rich salmon chowder.
• Alaskan Lingcod – beer-battered for tacos or pan-seared with garlic butter.
• Black Cod (aka butterfish) – miso-marinated or slow-roasted, this one melts in your mouth.
• BBQ Oysters – toss ’em on the grill with garlic herb butter or a smoky chipotle kick.

Yesterday we aquired the keys to our future! Barlean’s Fishery will now have a presence in Squalicum Harbor. We were very fortunate to work with the Port of Bellingham in securing an ideal location at 2551 Roeder Ave. (the old City Mac building across from Lummi Fishery Supply). Our current focus will be to get the doors open for retail seafood sales before summer….but, the building and property will host a multitude of maritime activities….dry boat storage for the fixed mast sailboats, an eventual office for Island Opportunity Charters (Bellingham’s only water taxi servicing the San Juan Islands), local nautical themed art and a processing area with commisary kitchen where local commercial fishermen can add value to their catch that they take direct to market.
This is a pretty special place that will give us a chance to collaborate with fishermen, showcase their catches and answer the request for a Seafood market in Bellingham.
Feel free to stop in and visit with April and Mark (co-owners) as we transform the space over the next couple months.
