Honey Bee (Genus Apis): There are only 7 recognized species of honey bees on the planet, though they are divided into 44 subspecies. Unlike the 20,000 other bee species, honey bees are known for producing and storing honey and building perennial, colonial nests from wax. Research indicates that a single honey bee can visit up to 1,500 flowers in a day. While this infographic may not be entirely accurate, it’s still incredible to consider what many bees achieve in their short lifetimes. 🐝🍯
