Good Monday Morning!!!!

We have been busy!! We spent the weekend planting our new baby trees. 650 of them!!! 4 new varieties in the mix. Keep in mind it takes 3ish years for good tree growth in order to be strong enough to hold up apples. Our new varieties will be Ludacrisp, Sweet Zinger, Evercrisp and Crispin. Now we must be patient while they grow!

We are in full bloom right now, which is a couple weeks early. We were at the beginning of bloom when we had the two nights of frost. Thankfully, we had very minimal damage, and we had absolutely no damage from the recent storms. We just have to make it thru the rest of the summer!

We have a lot of work to do between now and apple season. I guess it keeps us out of trouble! Lol

We are also very excited to work with Bushel & Pecks this fall! They will be making our apple sauce and apple butter for us with our apples and only our apples! I’ve always wanted to make it myself, but the canning license is very expensive, plus the fact that I don’t have a big enough kitchen at the Orchard. Time for another remodel??!!😜

I guess thats it for now! I’ll keep you all posted throughout the summer! Our plan to open will be around Labor Day as usual! Donut season will be here before you know it! 😉

Have a fabulous week!!

Happy First Day Of Spring!!! Looks like it’s going to be a great day!🌷🪻🌞

We have been pruning since the beginning of January. Then when that awful cold snap showed up, everything came to a screeching halt. Almost 3 weeks of bitter temps will do that! We finished with the other farm we help out at and we are almost half way done with ours.

We will be planting about 645 new trees by the end of April. We removed a bunch of old standard size trees to plant dwarf trees in their place. Less labor, better fruit! It’s a process, but needed to be done. We will be adding some new varieties, but we won’t let them produce fruit for at least 3 years. Reason for that is the trees are small and the wood is very week. They need to get a couple years of growth on them and you want the tree to focus its energy on roots and branch development rather than early fruit. Year three we will let them bear fruit if they look strong enough. 🍎🍎

Other than that, not much else going on at this point. I highly recommend you all get out there and get some fresh air and get your spring yard work done! Enjoy the sounds of nature. The birds are super happy right now and our pileated woodpeckers have showed their faces as well. Such cool birds!😉

Have a Fantastic Friday !!

Happy New Year!! I know I’m a little late on that! We hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season! It sure flew by and now it’s already nearing the end of January!

And, how about this weather!? BRRRRRRR! 🥶I’m actually thankful for the snow. I know weird, right? First reason is I LOVE ❄️! Second reason is we need it to insulate the ground before this bitter weather arrives. It will help protect the root system of our trees, especially the young ones.

We started pruning a couple weeks ago but of course now we will have a few days off. We have a lot of work to do before spring as we are planting around 650 new trees. A couple new varieties will be added but we won’t let them produce for 3ish years. We are pretty excited. Our new future line up will include Sweet Zinger, Ludacrisp, Crispin and Evercrisp.

We attended the Growing Wisconsin Conference in the Dells over the weekend and we continue to learn every year. And it’s always great to see our other orchard friends and catch up on life!

I guess that’s it for now! Have a fabulous rest of the winter and try to squeeze in a vacation or two!🏝️🛳️

Well, well, well!!

What a season! It was amazing and it was so wonderful to see all of you!
We can’t thank you all enough for supporting our small, family owned business. We love being a part of your visits. Lots of laughter and memories, even some tears. I think that’s what makes it so special…..a big Apple Hut family, and we added new “family” members this year. Thank you for finding us and we truly appreciate all of you more than you know! I think my parents would be proud.

As the fall progresses, we want to wish you all a happy, healthy, warm and safe holiday season.

See you next fall!!

Your Apple Hut family!

Good Friday Morning!!!

Just a reminder that Sunday November 2nd will be our last day open for the season. We will close at 5:00pm.

We still have Jonagold, Ida Red and Yellow Delicious apples. All three are excellent eating and baking apples. The pie freezer and cider cooler are full. The cider freezes great and that pie baking in your oven will fill your house with that wonderful pie aroma! Plenty of turnovers, pumpkin bread, apple cinnamon bread and caramel apples as well! Don’t forget about the soup and bread mixes for those cold winter days…..yes, winter is on its way!

Sounds like the weather is going to cooperate with no rain during the day. It’s going to be chilly, but it is fall!

So come on out and grab a cup of hot cider and a fresh donut!

Happy Halloween!!🎃

Happy Friday!!

Is it crispy outside or what!? I absolutely love this weather!

We are still undetermined about our last day. We will be here, for sure, thru the 2nd of November, possibly the 9th. We will know more after the weekend.

Speaking of the weekend, it’s going to be beautiful and sunny! Come on out and enjoy some hot cider and warm fresh donuts! We have plenty of squash and pumpkins! In fact, the pumpkin price has been reduced to 5.00!

Don’t forget that the donuts and cider freeze wonderfully! So stock up for those cold winter months……I heard a nasty rumor that we are going to have a good old fashioned Wisconsin winter….we’ll see!!❄️❄️

We have plenty of soups and bread mixes…….also great for those cold winter days! Seconds are plentiful for all of your baking needs. Our pie freezer is well stocked for you to grab a pie and bake at home…your house will smell wonderful! We also bake pies fresh every day.

Varieties available are Fuji, Yellow Delicious, Ida Red and Jonagold.

Just a reminder cash or check. No credit or debit. We do have an ATM on site. Please CALL the orchard for all inquiries!

Have a wonderful weekend and we hope to see you!!

Pumpkins and squash are available and we have a few mums left.

As of right now we plan on staying open until 11/9. That could change depending on when we run out of apples. I will keep you posted on that.

Please remember to CALL the orchard for ALL inquiries! I cant stress that enough! We have spotty service so things dont always come thru on my phone.

Have a fabulous rest of the week and stop out this weekend and enjoy!!
