We are a non-profit organization that improves access to fresh, in-season, nutrient-dense, local food and educates the community about the benefits of sustain-ably produced food. We promote an ecologically and socially just food system that supports greater community wellness, public health and the local economy.

Ready to get a little dirt on your shirt? Roll up your sleeves and spend a morning supporting the farmers who keep Central Oregon fed. 🌱

Thursday, September 17, we're headed out to Fields Farm from 9 am - 1 pm. This is the last public WWOLF event of the season! Our remaining fall events are reserved for a partner group, and then WWOLF closes for the winter. Farms need hands from spring through fall, so if you've been meaning to join, this is your last chance in 2026! The next open WWOLF events will start up again in Spring 2027.

No experience needed. Bring closed-toe shoes and a willingness to get your hands dirty for a few hours. It’s a win/win for all—a farm receives the help it needs, and you leave understanding something new about the food you consume. 🥕

Sixty thousand years ago, lava carved a cave under what's now Juniper Preserve. Last month, we had dinner there.

Chef Matt Christianson cooked an incredible meal from two Central Oregon farms, Well Rooted Produce and BIG SUMMIT BEEF CO. . The farmers who grew and raised that food also had seats at the table. That's the whole idea behind a Meet Your Farmer dinner: you eat something extraordinary, learn where it came from and how it was grown or raised, and meet some incredible people.

A portion of the proceeds went toward opening our second Locavore location on Bend's west side, making local food more accessible to more people. 🍎

📧 These events fill up quickly, and we announce them by email before anywhere else.

Eating local doesn’t have to mean changing everything about the way you shop for food. Start small with one thing you already buy regularly, and choose the local version first (not local only), if and when it works for you.

Here are five foods that taste better local:
—Eggs 🥚
—Greens 🥬
—Root Veggies 🥕🫜🥔🧄
—Meat 🥩🍗
—Honey 🍯

Feeding a baby shouldn’t come down to rent or diapers.

That’s the choice families were making before Baby Rx existed.

Nicolle Timm-Branch spent 25 years as a lactation nurse at St. Charles watching parents make that call. Now, through Locavore’s new Baby Rx program, at-risk and low-income families get donor milk, breastfeeding supplies and pumping gear, free and prescription-based.

Thank you to First Interstate Bank and East Cascade Women's Group for the seed funding that got this off the ground.

Grants start programs. They don’t sustain them.
That part is on the rest of us now.
