star grocery we are a little grocery store in south berkeley. been here since 1922. we like good food: produce, cheese, beer, wine, bread, meat, groceries.

luckily our customers like the same stuff.

--sunriver, cocoa cow. Chocolate milk stout, w/ lactose n ghana cocoa nibs. 7%.... and some non-alcs:
Dark Matter, heat-extracted coffee. "Vanilla Suburbs" is coffee w/ vanilla n cocoa. "Chocolate City" is just coffee. Pretty good stuff in a world of sh*tty cold brew coffee. 8oz cans.

B.A. ol' TREPANNER..... barleywine aged in 1 & 2 year ol' bourbon barrels. Actually, maybe more because these cans say 2017 on em. Either way, I'm excited. 12.3%

HERICIDE..... IPA w/ galaxy & mosaic. This beer was a f'n hit for me last year. 7.2%

Claremont! I used to drink this stuff everytime I visited LA. Fitting name for us, even though these are referring to a different Claremont. All IPAs here:

2 most XCLNT collab beers from Almanac:

Time Bender. Collab with Moonraker. Hazy DIPA, dry-hopped with mosaic, cashmere, centennial, el dorado. Damn tasty. I just realized they used a yeast from Berkeley Brewing Science, an "alien" yeast, specifically. 8%

Mapache. Collab with Strange Brewing. Nice super fruity raccoon sour. Brewed with blueberries, plums, peaches, pears. Aged in oak. 6.2%

Delicious suds:** upright. Special Herbs. Wish they never changed the artwork, but oh well. The beer is splendid. 5.7%**...

** pöhjala. Pime Öö PX. Another monster from Estonia's most hip brewery. Imp stout aged in Pedro Ximenes sherry barrels. I've heard nothing but goot tings about this beer. 13.9%
** jester king. Agresto. Barrel aged farmhouse ale brewed w/ Italian fennel flower, black pepper, and refermented w/ Texas grown unripe black Spanish grapes. A collab w/ Birrificio Italiano. 5.3%
** fonta flora. Whip-poor-will. Unpasteurized Wit brewed wit' oranges, coriander, aced earl grey tea. 4.5%
** blue owl. Jubilberry. Sour w/ cranberry, ginger, oats. 7.1%
** trve. Cosmic Crypt. Farmhouse pale. Let's see what the hype is all about. 5.6%
** double nickel. Coast to Coast. Hazy DDH IPA w/ Nelson & mosaic. Looks like an old can of oil. Hopefully it doesn't taste like one. 7.5%

Ghost Town.......... Despondency. Made in conspiracy with the homebros from MORTUOUS! Hazy pale, Idaho 7, Motueka, Citra. 5.6%

Ghost Town.......... Apostasy. 100% Citra juicy IPA. 6.8%

Hoof Hearted.......... Saizzurp. Sour farmhouse with peach n apricot. 6.5%

-- Modem Times, Proxima. Hazy IPA. Surprise! 7.5%

-- New Glory, Breakfast Hustle. "Coffee cake" golden stout. Apparently this originally was a collab with Fieldwork. So here it is, the first kinda-Fieldwork beer at Star. Except it's not a hazy, it's got coffee, cinnamon, cacao, and Mad bourbon vanilla. 7.5%

-- Captain Lawrence, Powder Dreams. DDH mosaic lupulin powder n Citra hops. "Invert can before opening for full distribution of flavor", and for full distribution of stinky liquid all over your shirt and pants front. 7.5%

-- Fat Orange Cat, Tiny Kittens. Hazy NE IPA! Who cares if it's good or not! Kittens! 6.5%!

-- Cascade in a can! Tropical Grasslands. At this price, it must be crap! 10 months in oak, Gose brewed with lemongrass, coriander, salt. Not just any salt, Oregon Coast salt. Oooo.... 5.5%

-- Cascade. Chêne Des Fous(oak of the fools). Still kinda cheap! Hmm. This one's a collab with Burial (NC) who I thinks makes the good beers. Barrel aged triple w/ sumac, apricots, American oak chains. Chains? Huh. 8.4%

-- Ghost Town, Polydactyl. Pale with mosaic n Citra. Just good, y'no? 5.5%

-- Marin (say what?) HOPSICKLE! In a can, just cus I can. No idea how fresh/ ancient this will be as it appears they stamped the date twice in two different directions on the same spot. Roll the dice! 9.2% 120,000,000 IBUs
