It’s been all season in the making… celebrating two decades of the Bethel Park Farmers Market. And YOU are invited.

Every Tuesday this season has been a little extra special since it’s been this big anniversary, but this is when it all comes to head.

Tomorrow “birthday party” also coincides with guests, ranging from the County Park Rangers to the Department of Health, from a local vision organization, offering free (and FAST) 👁️ screenings to our school supply drive!

And because we didn’t think that was enough for a single Tuesday afternoon, we’ll have face painting and a tote-decorating-station and a continuation of our raffle and memory board from last week.

August 18 | 3P-7P
Corrigan Drive, between Flora Park and the Ice Rink

See you there!

Two easy ways to give back this back-to-school season, right here at market.

If a supply list from your child's classroom is already on your kitchen counter, grab a couple extras next time you're shopping it -- teachers across the district could use the help. Bethel Park Elementary's full K-5 lists are posted for reference (https://www.bpsd.org/apps/news/article/2212984?categoryId=20490)

Also, the Caring Closet at Bethel Park High School is collecting everyday essentials for students who need a little extra support (think deodorant, toothbrushes, socks, feminine hygiene products, etc)

Drop off either at market on Tuesday, August 18th, or at the BP Police lobby or BP Library through August 24th. Small stuff for us, big difference for a neighbor.

Summer isn't over yet-- this Tuesday's market is a big one! Weather pushed some of last week's 20th Anniversary Celebration plans back, so the fun continues this Tuesday, 8/18 -- face painting is back on, plus the raffle and memory board started strong already!

Tuesday also brings the school supply drive with Bethel Park Police Department -- a few extra notebooks or pencils go a long way for local students. VisAbility joins the market this week too, offering free vision screenings for all ages (those wearing contacts are not able to be screened)!

One more reason to come out to Corrigan Drive this Tuesday, 3-7 PM. See you there!

Storms don’t make for a great party ⛅️ the market is still happening, and we will share if any vendors tell us they’re not coming!

As for our anniversary celebration, we are saving our balloons for next week (since running after them in the parking lot doesn’t sound like much fun!)

But we hope you still come by, add something to our memory board, enter the raffle for a tote filled with market goodies!

Come to the market tomorrow. Be a part of our celebration.
It's nothing huge. But it matters. Because 20 is a long time.
See you on Corrigan Drive | 3p-7p

We've been doing a little math lately.

This May marks our 20th season bringing fresh, local food to the Bethel Park community. Two decades of Tuesday markets. Hundreds of vendors. Thousands of bags carried home full of food made by real people.

We have something to celebrate — and we want to celebrate it with you. More details coming soon. 🎉

20 years of Tuesdays -- of picking corn, seeing neighbors, and trying something new. 20 years of family dinners, knowing your farmer, and making your weekly grocery shopping count toward real people. 20 years of supporting, building, and growing this farmers market, rain or shine.

This Tuesday, August 11th, we're celebrating 20 years at the market. Say hello to the vendors who've been with us since the very beginning and stop by the memory board to add your favorite market moment from the last two decades.

Twenty years of Tuesdays being the best day of the week.

>> Facepainting by Makeup with Jasmine
>> Extra music by Harry Funk and Andrew Wharton (so both ends of the market can feel festive)
>> Chance to win some of our limited-edition merch
>> Special crafts at the Bethel Park Recreation tent
>> Memory board to commemorate 20 years!
>> Balloons all around-- especially at the vendors who have been with us for 20 years!

The Bethel Park Farmers Market has always been more than a place to shop.

Between live music every week, hands-on moments like Bee Day, special guests like the County Parks, vendors who take the time to explain what they grow or make to curious kids, and a Food Assistance Match program that helps families stretch further, the market has grown into something closer to a weekly gathering than a transaction. That wasn't an accident -- it's something we've built on over twenty years, season by season.

A lot of that has been about making the market somewhere the entire family can go, and involving the next generation. Knowing where food comes from, asking questions, showing up as part of something bigger than themselves -- that's what we hope every visitor walks away with, not just kids. It's part of why this market has lasted twenty years, and part of why we think it'll last twenty more.

We've been marking that milestone all season, and will have something special this Tuesday, August 11th, too. Come see how we're celebrating.

Fresh, healthy food should be something everyone can reach, not just a few.

That's why the Bethel Park Farmers Market accepts SNAP/EBT, and why we partner with Food Assistance Match, Inc. to double the value of those benefits (and the FMNP vouchers) when spent at the market. A little goes further, and more families get to bring home fresh, local food because of it.

One of our previous market managers started this partnership in 2022, believing a farmers market should help make fresh food possible for everyone in this community, not just some of it. Week after week, we get to see that belief play out -- familiar faces, Tuesday routines, the same rhythm that makes this market what it is.

Access has always been part of what a farmers market is supposed to be. Twenty years in, that hasn't changed -- if anything, it matters more.

If you or someone you know could use fresh food to go further, come see us on a Tuesday. We're glad to have you.

There's a lot that happens before 3pm on a Tuesday.

Vendors are confirmed, insurance is checked, the map gets laid out, tables and signage go up, and someone is making sure the lot on Corrigan Drive is ready to become a market for four hours. None of that happens by accident... it takes planning, all season, every season.

We say this because it's easy to only see the finished version: the tents, the music, the tables full of produce. But behind it is a small team working to make sure the market runs smoothly, supports 40+ vendors, and stays a place this community can count on.

Twenty years of Tuesdays doesn't happen on its own. It happens because people keep showing up to make it happen (on both sides of the table, AND with partners that support and provide resources to ensure the market continues on!)

Every vendor at the Bethel Park Farmers Market is a small business. A farmer, a baker, a maker, someone who decided to build something and bring it straight to their community, no middleman in between.

That's the heart of what "local" means to us. When you shop at the market, your money doesn't just buy dinner -- it goes directly to the person who grew, cooked, or made it. Over 40 vendors set up on Corrigan Drive each week, many of them small operations that depend on markets like ours to grow.

Twenty years in, that's still the core of it. Fresh food, made close to home, sold by the people who made it.
