As usual, Mother Nature throws a curve ball our way, but as farmers this is a risk we take. We work diligently to protect the crops as best as we can. Two days prior to the freeze event, a decision was made to apply a fertilizer, derived from seaweed, in an attempt to strengthen the fruit buds and relieve stress with the upcoming frost. These last few nights have been spent applying the fertilizer, tending the wind machines and running the frost dragon. We are hoping for the best, but it’s too early to know the full extent of the damage.
