Home to 10-15 vendors with fresh produce, bread and baked goods, kombucha, fresh peanut butter, natural soaps, locally produced meat, sheep's milk yogurt and cheese, flowers, houseplants, smoothies, and prepared breakfast and lunch foods. The market's primary mission is to provide a positive environment for local farmers and producers to sell their products to the Bethlehem and greater Lehigh Vall

ey communities. The Bethlehem Farmers’ Market also creates opportunities for interaction and engagement between local residents and Lehigh University community members at a market that offers a unique shopping and lunch experience. Central to the success of the market is the education of community members. The Bethlehem Farmers’ Market strives to highlight the importance of proper nutrition and inform our patrons of the economic and social benefits of buying locally, from producer-only vendors. The market chooses vendors who offer products that abide by the guidelines of Buy Fresh, Buy Local of the Greater Lehigh Valley. The Bethlehem Farmers’ Market supports Lehigh University’s Campus Sustainability Plan and Master Plan.

🧑‍🌾 May is Mental Health Awareness Month and this year’s theme, “More Good Days, Together,” certainly fits with our goals for the farmers market season. We had a couple of really great days to start off the market’s 19th year, and we look forward to many more vibrant market days ahead, showcasing local growers and makers and gathering the community to celebrate our shared experiences in Southside Bethlehem.

Lehigh students are taking finals this week, so there will be no music at tomorrow’s market. But we will have a full lineup of vendors, with lots of tasty things to eat and drink, plus great gifts for moms, grads, teachers, co-workers, or friends who are departing for the summer.

It looks like we will dodge the rain tomorrow, so let’s enjoy another good day together. Grab a friend and your reusable shopping bag and meet us at the market!

🧑‍🌾 Whew! Talk about an amazing opening day! We had 2,000+ people come out to celebrate the opening of the market season!
As our market manager said, “It’s going to be tough to top that near-perfect combination of beautiful weather, first-rate vendors, generous sponsors, awesome campus partners, and the best customers, but we promise to try every single Thursday.”
