Hey health foodies!!! I did not realize I hadn't posted an update recently! I had my second surgery in January and recovered well. I will have follow up appts and yearly screenings but outside of that, it is the kid that will be keeping us busy! I did not have to have any chemo or radiation and that certainly was a huge factor in my ability to have both surgeries and recovery quick. I am back to running and lifting light weights, have no restrictions and almost feel normal! I have had several reach out and ask so I thought I might do an update here as well. We have still been busy the last several weeks, Mason turned 21 so we went and visited with him in San Antonio, Cooper is still doing track and OAP but was able to complete his Eagle Scout project over spring break. Most days it feels like it doesn't matter what is finished, there is always something on the horizon! BUT I would not trade a single second of chasing our boys around. I appreciate each and every one of our customers and am so thankful for this community and for all of your prayers!!
🖤IT.IS.DONE.😮💨 Almost 10yrs in the making & never imagined how busy life could get, yet Coop persevered & had a busy spring break finishing his Eagle Scout project.
THANK YOU to everyone who contributed. THANK YOU to the Scouts that showed up to help. THANK YOU to his crew for showing up to help. THANK YOU to our family for always helping & being there! Scouting doesn’t get the recognition it once did, but do not think for one minute that it is easy. It’s dedication, it’s sacrifice & it is WORK. It’s not instant gratification, its commitment, it’s YEARS of effort. It has given our boys, our family, so much more than I could put into words.
🖤Tate’s Place is the BEST organization to contribute to. Their community garden is amazing & how fortunate Coop was to be able to help it grow! We saw several people come up to their food stand & get what they needed. If you don’t know about Tate’s Place, do me a favor & go read their mission statement, browse their page & donate anytime you can, time or $$. Not only do they provide food, they provide essentials & do the work no one wants to do, they provide support to families who have lost their child. They show up when the unimaginable happens, they set aside their grief to help others during theirs. They fill a gap in our community that most will not ever understand. They fill bellies & provide necessities that are needed. If you could catch a small glimpse of Ash’s heart, you too would 🖤this organization. We🖤volunteering & helping at Tate’s Place & pray they continue to grow & provide for our community.🖤
We are so thankful for Cooper Sedberry and all the hard work he put into building our new compost bin & garden stand for the community garden!
This project is especially meaningful, as it is Cooper’s Eagle Scout project, the final step toward earning the highest honor in Scouting. An Eagle Scout project requires a Scout to plan, organize, and lead a service effort that benefits the community, showcasing leadership, dedication, and problem-solving skills.
Cooper has been involved in Scouts since 1st grade and has worked hard to earn all 22 required merit badges. This project marks the culmination of years of commitment and growth. He is a proud member of Troop 1, and we are incredibly grateful he chose to give back to our garden in such a lasting and impactful way.
Thank you Coop for thinking of Tate’s Place! This means so much to us! 🫶🏻
