One of the best views of the creek and tundra is right here. This year we saw bears wander out of the tundra to the creek, boats coming in for safety from the wind, and even the mountains way off in the distance from this spot. We all know Graveyard is a rare and special place and community, but this is our favorite spot here.

Our youngest son Sam is our fisherman. He wants to fish all the time. In Alaska he gets on the boat with the crew, but to actually catch his own salmon is a goal of his. Well, he did it and was all smiles.
Oh and peep his technique on emptying water out of your boots. He’s got it down!
We love fishing for salmon for our customers, but to be honest, this experience every summer for our boys is the most rewarding part of it all for us.

This is the community of Graveyard Point from the air. Fishermen are living in all of these abandoned buildings. As someone said last year who was passing through, "Its like a hippie commune in the middle of Alaska". With our reliance on solar for power and rain for water, maybe we are a bit like that. The idea of living wild and free comes to life during the month or two when we all share this land each summer. Here's to taking moments to live wildly.

This year we were blessed to have family join us for the first week of fish camp. Captain Joe's dad, sister and nephew got to experience camp life. His sister Anna had been up before, and this time she got right back to work building us a brand new outhouse! It's always special to be able to share our summer way of life with our families!
