I would recommend Herbes de Provence Olive Oil and bread from Five Loaves Micro Bakery (this would be amazing for a dinner party or at-home date)

Baked Brie Bread Bowl with a Cranberry and Thyme Infusion

Ingredients:
1 round sourdough loaf (about 10-12 inches in diameter)
1 wheel of brie cheese (8 ounces)
1/2 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons chopped pecans (optional)
Olive oil for brushing
Crackers or sliced baguette for serving
Directions:
Prepare the Bread Bowl:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the top off the sourdough loaf and hollow out the center, leaving about a 1-inch thick shell. Save the removed bread pieces for dipping.
Assemble the Brie Bowl:

Place the wheel of brie in the hollowed-out bread bowl. Spread the cranberry sauce evenly over the top of the brie.
Drizzle with honey and sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over the cranberry sauce. If desired, add chopped pecans for extra crunch.
Bake:

Brush the outside of the bread bowl with olive oil to help it crisp up. Place the bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the brie is melted and bubbly.
Serve:

Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Serve immediately with crackers, baguette slices, or the reserved bread pieces for dipping.

The vast majority of store-bought salad dressings are not healthy as they are loaded with unnecessary fats, sugars and also loaded with preservatives. A healthier and easy alternative is to make vinaigrette from scratch. This simple recipe can be tweaked with your favorite Simply Infused Balsamic {🤔 Pomegranate-Quince or Neapolitan Herb in place of the more acidic Apple Cider Vinegar 😊). Give it a try, I think you will be surprised. My salads in 2025 will include more fruits and nuts. What flavors and textures will you be incorporating into your 2025?

This Honey Dijon Vinaigrette Dressing is super easy and ready in only five minutes. This dressing is great to incorporate into salads, wraps, veggies or as a marinade for meat!

Another holiday treat from our "Best of" album (under Photos on our page). This bite of deliciousness is festive and can be tweaked to provide more of your favorite flavors (see recipe comments)

From our tasting bar earlier in 2021 and part of our “Best of Collection”:

Did you taste our Polvorones Mexicana ~ Simply Infused style. This simply classic Mexican treat winds out our month of Mexican cuisine. Once you try this, you may never buy cookies from the store again as these are amazing and so easy to bake!

3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 sticks unsalted butter 🧈
1 large egg
1 cup powered sugar (more for dusting cookies)
4 Tbsp Cara Cara Orange 🍊 Vanilla Balsamic
Cinnamon Sugar to sprinkle

Soften butter at room temp for 1-2hrs (this makes a huge difference in consistency)

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, slowly adding more and more flour until folded in and mixture is smooth.

Bake in preheated oven at 350 for 18 mins. Remove, sprinkle just barely with cinnamon sugar (like 2 taps of the pre-mixed bottle from the grocery store), then roll in powered sugar. Easy as that!

Tasty options: you could add chopped nuts, you could add almond extract, or anise extract, your could use 1 1/2 cups Persian Lime Olive Oil (always remember to use less olive oil in a recipe than butter!) and this would make a nice summer cookie, for the holiday you could add nutmeg. The options are endless. This is a terrific cookie to serve at weddings, with coffee or just for that tiny snack.

Marian Minugh mentioned this "Chocolate Salami" recipe (from our "Best of" photo album found on our page) and she adds a tropical twist by using dark chocolate, Simply Infused Coconut Balsamic, dried coconut, dried pineapple, dried oranges and macadamia nuts. Per Marian, "It's a delightful blend of dark, bitter and tangy chocolate with a sweet undertone of dried fruits and the savory bit of the nuts...it's heaven."

~ CHOCOLATE SALAMI ~

A fantastic, unusual, tasty and fun dessert for the holiday. Create a new holiday tradition by making this with kids (they will have so much fun crushing the biscotti!) or by gifting this sweet all wrapped up and ready to eat!

Chocolate Salami is so easy to make! When you try it for the first time, you will be wondering why you haven’t made it before. It is made throughout the world and known by various names.
Like salami, chocolate salami is formed as a long cylinder and is sliced across into discs for serving. These discs are a brown, chocolaty matrix (like the red meat of salami) peppered with bright bits of cookie (like the white flecks of fat in salami). There are many recipes for “chocolate salami’. Other versions are made with the addition of different ingredients such as eggs, heavy cream, liquor, and/or dried fruits.

In Russia, it is called chocolate sausage.

In Greece, chocolate salami is called Mosaiko or Kormos.

In Turkey, it is called Mosaic Cake (mozaik pasta).

In Romania, it is called biscuit salami (salam de biscuiți), and it may have originated during the 1970s or 1980s in the communist era, possibly as a result of food shortages.

In Uruguay, it is called chocolate saucisson (salchichón de chocolate).

In Italy, it is also called English salami (salame inglese)

No matter what you call it, everyone calls it good! This is the recipe I used for our Saturday dessert charcuterie bar and it received rave reviews:

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup Biscotti (crushed)
2 Tbsp Espresso Balsamic (Cara Cara Orange Vanilla or Raspberry Balsamic could also be used)
1 stick unsalted butter
2 cups chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Confectioners sugar

PREPARE
Melt butter and chocolate chips in microwave bowl, mix well.
Stir in Biscotti, nuts and Balsamic. Mix well. (I added about 3 Tbsp whole milk, too!)

Place half of the mixture on one sheet of wax paper forming a log about 7” by 3”. Roll log with wax paper and twist ends to seal. Repeat with additional mixture on another sheet of wax paper. Chill 4 hrs or overnight. Unroll, dust with confectioners sugar and re-roll to store in fridge or freezer. When ready to slice, be sure to cut thick slices so as not to break or crumble the slice.

Need a snack for the holidays? This fun and easy favorite would be beautiful in a little bag with a bow, too!

Fun foodie and long-time customer Nikki came in to the shop today wanting Coconut Balsamic and asking for this recipe 👇👇👇 (so happy to share)

So many asked about our recipes for the Spicy 🌶 Chex Mix as well as the Tropical 🥥 Chex Mix. It’s really simple, just google your favorite Chex Mix recipe and instead of butter use olive oil...and instead of Worcestershire or other liquid use Balsamic.

Today I used Baklouti EVOO and Neapolitan Herb for the Spicy Mix....and I used Persian Lime EVOO and Coconut Balsamic for the Tropical Mix.

Thanks to all who came out to “Mix” Simply Infused style!

(Psst...now, tell a friend or neighbor where to get this deliciousness! 😊)

~ CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES with RASPBERRY BALSAMIC ~

Thanks to all who came out to our tasting bar today. For your sweet Valentine, we showcased our Raspberry Truffles. “Decadent” was the word I heard most often today from customers describing the taste....certainly for the serious chocolate lover❣️❣️

These tiny morsels have a tangy-fruity flavor that will almost melt in your mouth. And, they can be made in advance and refrigerated (up to 2 weeks) or frozen until ready to serve. For best results, use the highest quality chocolate chips possible.

* 2Tbsp Simply Infused Raspberry Dark Balsamic Vinegar
* 6 oz high-quality 65% cocoa semi-sweet chocolate chips
* 4 oz high-quality 85% cocoa bitter-sweet chocolate chips
* 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces)
* 1 tsp Vanilla extract
* 3 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
* Sugar (for dusting)

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine all ingredients except sugar and stir. Microwave 1 minute. Stir and microwave an additional 30 seconds. Remove from microwave, stir and set aside.

Prepare an 8x8 inch pan, greased and lined with wax paper. (Make sure the edges of the wax paper extend out over 2 sides of the pan as this will make the mixture easy to remove.) Pour mixture in pan and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.

When firm but moldable, scoop out a small portion with a teaspoon and roll into balls the size of a large cherry. (These are super sweet so big balls are not necessary.) Set on waxed paper.

Place sugar in a shallow bowl and roll truffles in sugar until all are coated. Set on waxed paper until ready to serve.

To serve, place in small paper candy cups or place a white paper doily on a serving plate.

Makes about 20-30 depending on size

Flavor Hints:
🍇 Try Simply Infused Espresso, Tahitian Vanilla or Lavender Balsamic Vinegar.
🥥 Coat in chopped nuts, toasted coconut or confectioners sugar.

~ BLOOD ORANGE 🍊 BAKLAVA ~

1 lb. phyllo dough

For the filling:
6 ounces blanched almonds
6 ounces roasted walnuts
6 ounces roasted pistachios
2/3 cup sugar
1 Tbsp fresh ground cinnamon
1 Tbsp fresh grated orange zest
1 cup + 1 tablespoon Simply Infused Blood Orange Olive Oil

For the syrup:
1 cup honey
1/2 cup water
1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice (blood orange if possible)
1 cup sugar
1 cinnamon stick
2" strip of orange zest

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease the bottoms and sides of a 9x13 inch pan with Blood Orange Olive Oil. Pulse the nuts with the sugar, orange zest and cinnamon in the bowl of a food processor until finely chopped. Unroll and cut the phyllo sheets in half to fit pan. Cover phyllo with a dampened cloth to keep from drying out as you work. Place two sheets of dough in pan, brush with blood orange olive oil thoroughly. Repeat the process until there are 8 sheets layered. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of nut mixture on top. Top with two sheets of dough, blood orange olive oil, nuts, layering as you go. The top layer should be about 6-8 sheets deep.

Using a sharp knife, cut into diamond or square shapes all the way to the bottom of the pan. Bake in the center of the oven for approximately 50 minutes until baklava is golden and crisp.

Make the syrup while baklava is baking. In a heavy saucepan, bring the water, sugar and orange juice to a boil. Add honey, cinnamon stick and orange peel and simmer for about 20 minutes longer. Remove baklava from oven and immediately spoon sauce over it and allow to cool.

~ CAYENNE & MAPLE CROCKPOT FUDGE ~

I know, chocolate 2 Saturdays in a row. 😋 Y’all must think I am some kinda Chocoholic 🙄...and maybe you’re right! 🤣

I melted 4 cups milk chocolate chips, 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream 2 Tbsp Cayenne olive oil and 1/2 cup honey in a crockpot on high for 1 hour. Then poured in 1 cup white chocolate morsels, added 4 tsp Maple Balsamic and 1 cup chopped pecans and mixed well. Pour out on a cookie sheet and let it set. I actually placed mine in the freezer before cutting into bite-size pieces.

Inspired while on a “working vacation” in 2012, this mother-daugter team decided to embark on an adventure which would change their lives. After escaping corporate America in 2014, Simply Infused was “infused”. Our misson is simple: “To imbue our patrons with knowledge and a sense of well-being via our products and services.” Our community is missing opportunities each day to create an epicurean experience, a good conversation, a lasting memory. These opportunities should be infused in eveyday life.

Birmingham based. Birmingham owned. We are passionate about our community...we live here and cherish the opportunity to serve you with the world’s freshest extra virgin olive oils and barrel-aged balsamic vinegars imported from Italy.
