π‘Fact of the week: Have you ever wondered why specialty coffee bags always list the elevation? Altitude is one of the biggest factors in how your coffee tastes. Higher elevations mean cooler temperatures, which slow down the ripening of coffee cherries and allow the beans to develop more complex sugars, acids, and aromas. The result is a denser, harder bean with brighter acidity, floral and fruity notes, and greater overall complexity. Beans grown above 1,500m tend to be the most prized β think jasmine, berries, and crisp citrus in your cup. Lower altitude coffees aren't bad, just different β earthier and fuller-bodied. So next time you see "1,800m" on your bag, know that's a big part of why it tastes so good. β
Did you know we have a coffee vendor serving pour over coffee? And 10% of proceeds from coffee sales are donated to our local food banks, HELP and Crewe Cares.
