June 22, 2026 Storm Cleanup
Green Waste Disposal. Blanchard’s Emergency Management Department has completed its evaluation of the damage caused by this weekend’s thunderstorms, and determined that the damage is generally localized to the central part of the city. Unfortunately, several homes received damage from falling debris that may require assistance from contractors. However, most of the damage to other properties, thankfully, appears to be limited to downed tree limbs in yards.
To assist with the cleanup from the storm, the city will be accepting the drop off of tree limbs at a TEMPORARY SITE located at 795 Wade Drive, (just south of SE 7th Street) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., from Wednesday June 24th through Saturday June 27th. A Blanchard employee will be on site during those times to direct residents on where to unload their tree limbs. Residents should be prepared to show a Blanchard utility bill for the property where the green waste was collected and to unload their own green waste. Residents without a current utility bill may obtain a copy of their most recent bill at Blanchard City Hall, 2008 N. Council, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
To facilitate as easy of a process as possible, we ask that:
Residents must be prepared to unload the green waste materials themselves, City Employees cannot unload the green waste materials for you.
Trailer sizes are limited to no more than 16’.
Limbs do not have ropes or other bindings once they are delivered.
Trunk sizes are limited to only what the resident can remove from the truck/trailer themselves.
The site will only take in green waste materials (limbs, trees debris, etc.), we will not take in any debris from structures, construction materials, or trash debris created by the storm.
This disposal site will be for residents of Blanchard only, NO commercial entities receiving a fee for their services, landscape services and tree services will be allowed to dispose of green waste.
We encourage commercial entities and tree services to use the local landfill for disposal purposes.
There are no expected declarations of federal/state/local emergency from this event, Blanchard will be chipping the waste rather than incinerating it. As such, employees will need to be able to lift the limbs to get them into the chipper. Your assistance in cutting the limbs into manageable sizes will be greatly appreciated.
This information is subject to change as the weather conditions dictate over the next few days.
