Fresh from Crooked Fence Farm in Pontiac, IL, these locally grown pears are just $1.29/lb! 🌱

What started as a small hobby farm with cows has grown over the years to include fruit trees and even honeybees. Today, Crooked Fence Farm has two mature pear trees and two mature peach trees, and we’re lucky enough to bring some of that local goodness right here to GTG! 💚

Today is the LAST DAY to grab your tickets, and we still have a few spots available! Join us tomorrow from 4–7 PM for a special evening celebrating the rich food, culture, and traditions of Oaxaca.

Indigenous Chef Ernesto will share stories and ancestral food traditions passed down through generations while you enjoy a delicious three-course plated meal, with beverages paired throughout the evening, including mezcal margaritas, w**e, and agua frescas.

🍴 What’s on the menu?

Appetizers
• Cheese taquitos with homemade chips & salsa + mezcal margarita or agua fresca
• Chayote salad with microgreens & creamy cilantro dressing + white w**e

It was a big weekend! Many of you saw us at the Downtown Bloomington Farmers' Market. We handed out over 200 free bags and coupons with the help of Taylor, Board Pres Ron, Board Chair Colleen and Susan! If you grabbed something from us, come say hi in store! We are a local community owned grocery store focused on local and natural groceries.

Then, we headed over to Slow Food USA's presentation at Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery, featuring talks with THREE of our local vendors from Janie's Mill, Funks Grove Heritage Fruits & Grains, and Spence Farm LLC. Plus, a farm to table meal centered around local grain. Soaking up local conversation and inspiration that we will bring back to the store! Thank you to everyone who brought the event to life and are spreading the good word about our local food system.
