Grandfather Country Store

Grandfather Country Store On the eastern slope of Grandfather Mountain rests a country store that has claimed the site at Blue Moon Gap since the early 1920s.

Generations of mountain people have bought groceries, hardware, and automobile products at the little store that was once known as Blue Moon Station and is now Grandfather Country Store. It has had several owners, name changes, and facelifts, but remains ever "The Country Store" to local people who were taken to the store as children and now walk the same floor boards to buy cokes and cookies with

their grandchildren. While there are still groceries and convenience items, browsers will also find fresh gourmet coffee, pastries from the finest local bakeries, and a tempting line of local honey, jams and jellies, books, collectibles and antiques. Blending past and present, visitors can bask before a woodstove while cruising the net via wi-fi . Bikers, hikers, cyclists, rock climbers, and nature lovers of all stripe will find a place to rest, a variety of energy bars and drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere that encourages relaxation, gossip and the exchange of ideas and experiences. Passers-by will find a helpful staff that can address their travel needs.
