Dearest Kula,
First and foremost thanks for being here and showing up to support this startup over the last five years,
especially in the beginning, during Covid, during the transition, and now!
The transition…
Over a year ago it became clear that our cafe plans had crashed and burned.
At the same time my relationship also reached a point where it became clear that change was imminent. I also felt constantly overwhelmed, like I was swimming with cement shoes and my life vest is leaking. Under this level of stress I also became acutely aware that I’ve been running from my trauma (why I tend to overwork) my whole life and that it was just about to catch me.
What happened next is a blur. I turned to my friends, employees and mentors…lifelines we’re thrown and help received.
My friends Julia and Zach Greatting and Kula’s dedicated employees and .vegan kept cheese in the stores and the company viable while I had a breakdown.
My handoff was sloppy but the catch was solid and I’m so excited by the amazing vision and drive Julia and Zach are leading with! The cheese will continue to be the same clean ingredient, probiotic, superior tasting dairy free product.
