Hosted by Chef Adan Callsen of Under The Table Boise, and in collaboration with our Sprouts Kids Club, kiddos and their favorite grown-up will enjoy a market tour and live cooking demonstration, taking home a recipe card, a tote, and a memorable experience!

You will learn together how to shop the Farmers Market and cook delicious fresh ingredients, focusing on special “Back to School” snack recipes! Please note this class is designed for kids 5 years and older to be accompanied with a supervising adult at all times.

🧡This week, Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS) is joining the Sprouts Kids Club! As their garden puts out an amazing number of fruits and veggies, BUGS will be sharing some of their more unique crops as an opportunity for kids to expand their palates. Sprouts Kids will have the chance to taste some of the harvest and go through a “taste exploration” sheet where they exercise their ability to describe foods that are new to them.

Join Ada Soil and Water Conservation District at the Sprouts Booth on Saturday for a soil health demonstration and market scavenger hunt.

🛍️It’s the first Saturday of the month, which means we are doing our grocery giveaway! Starting at 8:30AM this week, we will have 25 bags of groceries to give out to shoppers, no questions asked. You will explore the Farmer’s Market like a scientist – get curious, observe, ask questions, and then fill out a Field Guide template to bring back to the Sprouts Kids Club table.

🔔Get there for opening to celebrate our Bell Ringer of the Week, Sophia! Sophia won our Sprouts Bell Ringer competition, and will be opening up the market this Saturday. When asked what her favorite part of the market was, she said it was too hard to answer because she loves so many things about the market!

Beloved BFM volunteer Linda Reed passed away in 2025. Linda was a staple at the Market. Her presence - from loyal customer to dedicated volunteer to steward of uplifting the local food system - left an amazing and lasting mark on the Boise Farmers Market.

Linda believed strongly in our BFM vendors. She fully embraced our Vendor Assistance Program, and keeping our market strong and vibrant through vendor support is Linda’s legacy. We have graciously accepted her posthumous gift of $56,000.

We will invest these funds, which are dedicated solely to the Vendor Assistance Program. We miss Linda dearly, and are eternally grateful for her gifts of talent, time, and treasure! Her legacy lives on through the market.

The Vendor Assistance Program was established in 2023. This program started with our Fee Reduction Fund, to discount weekly booth fees for our farmers, ranchers, and makers who struggle financially due to various factors. Fully implemented 2024, we also added the Vendor Hardship Fund that year to specifically address one-time catastrophes (i.e. storm-ravaged crop loss, medical emergencies, and major equipment failure).

Since its inception, the Vendor Assistance Program has provided over $35,000 in relief to our farmers, ranchers, and makers, ensuring financial barriers are eased in order to bring local, fresh produce and products to Market!

Let’s get to know Alternative Flour Bakeshop! This year is Alternative Flour Bakeshop’s 3rd season with the Boise Farmers Market. Tay is the brilliant mind behind the business and wanted to share more about her operation and the impact the Farmer’s Market has had on her success.

“I sell specifically gluten free, dairy free, soy free and naturally dyed pastries and treats. I typically also have vegan options more often than not. Items can range from various flavors of scones, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, breakfast rolls, sandwich bread and various other treats. It’s also nice to have the availability of seasonal options with local vendors that I choose to feature in products.

I believe my products stand for all the BFM values, especially access. I have access to fresh and local produce I can feature in my products. I also allow access to these products for anyone who hasn’t been able to enjoy an allergen friendly treat without all the processed nonsense in it.

I believe AFB’s growth comes from being seen at the BFM. Not only through connecting with individuals and showcasing my product, but also showcasing myself, which has brought so much strength and confidence in me, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I want to thank everyone for their continued support.

My goal is to have my own bakeshop in a part of the Treasure Valley that is restriction friendly so anyone and everyone can walk in and grab something without worry. This dream could not come close to fruition without the support I have received, and helps me get one step closer. So thank you so very much for trusting me to create delicious items for you to enjoy!”
