Every once in a while, you just have to get your feelings/thoughts off your chest… so here we go. 😇

I’m honored to be featured in the 2026 Livability Ames/Story County magazine by Ames Regional Economic Alliance, sharing a small part of my story how a hobby making charcuterie boards grew into a full-time career.

What started as a creative outlet became something I never could have imagined. To everyone who has supported my small business along the way… thank you. You’ve helped turn a hobby into so much more than a
career, and I’ll never take that for granted. 💛

This October, we’ll gather for the 2nd Annual B-INSPIRED 5K. Run | Walk B-INSPIRED. After hearing so many people say my fitness journey and entrepreneurial journey inspired them, I decided to combine the two—and that’s how the B-Inspired 5K came to life. Now, together, we’re helping fund scholarships for future entrepreneurs and student-athletes. 🏃🏼‍♀️

B Inspired. Stay inspired… because you never know where one small idea, one “yes,” or one leap of faith might lead.

They say nearly 50% of small businesses don’t make it to five years. As I head into Year 5, I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come—and even more excited because it truly feels like the best is yet to come. 👏🏻

Did you know I host an annual 5K?

This is our 2nd Annual B-INSPIRED 5K. Run | Walk B-INSPIRED. and it all started because so many of you told me I inspired you through my business, health, and running journey. That meant more than you know, so I wanted to create something that inspires you. 🏃🏼‍♀️

Don’t let the word 5K scare you. Walk, jog, run—it doesn’t matter. The goal is simply to do something for yourself. 👏🏻

Fun fact: You can even grab a B-Inspired drink at The Daily Boss in Boone! It was inspired by me and is packed with protein. 💪

The best part? Every registration helps fund scholarships for two Boone High graduates pursuing entrepreneurship or sports-related dreams.

Last year, we had almost 200 participants and awarded $1,200 in scholarships. Let’s make an even bigger impact this year. 💛

The butterfly effect is really crazy because what started as a small hobby slowly turned into something much bigger than I ever planned—and eventually allowed me to step away from working as a Respiratory Therapist. 🫁

I still love the job, so I’ve kept my foot in the door and work a couple times a month, but my days now look completely different in the best way—early mornings creating orders, markets, events, and meeting incredible people.

It’s also the flexibility to be home with my kids, including them at events, while building something that started as just an idea and watching it grow into a business I genuinely love.

Unapologetically proud of how far I’ve come, especially on the days I still doubt myself. 🤍

These cheese cutouts were on point for tonight’s Women in Leadership networking event hosted by the Ames Regional Economic Alliance!

Not only did I get to cater this event, but I also got to attend and be part of such an inspiring evening surrounded by incredible women.
