Bosque Farms Growers Market

Bosque Farms Growers Market We are a farmers market for local NM growers. We are hoping our work helps local food security and n Everyone helping makes a difference. Give us a try!

Including the usual cash and in support of our mission to help farmers make a living, we have SNAP EBT p-EBT access and Double Up Food Bucks for SNAP EBT p-EBT recipients, participate in the WIC and Five Sandoval Counties farmers markets programs and Fresh RX. A little know fact is that EBT recipients can help their own food sovereignty by purchasing locally grown food plants from our markets wit

h their EBT funds. In today's economy, we see a lot of funds leave our communities. By spending at the local farmers markets, people have a way to change that fact. The above programs are a way to help more people help money circulate back into the local economy. A study done by UNM has shown that farmers markets and programs like the Double Up food bucks helps money circulate in the local economy longer and provides value of $1.80 to every dollar spent at the farmers market. The Bosque Farms Growers Market and the Los Lunas Farmers Market are two of the most affordable local food markets around.

This Labor Day, we’re tipping our hats to the hardest-working hands in New Mexico: our local farmers, ranchers, and food producers! These folks work tirelessly to bring fresh, local food to our communities - from their farms to our homes.

When you shop at your local farmers’ market and farm stand, every dollar spent supports a family farm, strengthens our regional food economy, and honors the essential labor that keep our plates delicious.

Just a question I asked for all those gardeners here who haven't yet taken this step to learn how to preserve some of their harvests. Some of us market growers already do this. We can tell you the flavor of fresh home canned salsa, veggies and fruits is a fine thing in winter.

Make it something you actually eat. Canned protein would probably be good. Learning how to preserve summer's harvest is also a one way to create your own nonperishables.

:

Grab at least one non-perishable food item for your supply kit each time you do a grocery run. This keeps emergency preparedness top of mind and builds your kit with a lower upfront cost.
