Friends, two years ago when we were preparing to open the doors for Pastiche we would have never dreamed what a fun and spectacular ride it's been. We've so loved getting to be part of Downtown Bowling Green and celebrating so many things with so many of you!
I feel like everyone always wants a reason for these things, but in this case, it's just the story is over. The cost of premium gourmet ingredients in a casual atmosphere is always tough to balance and we knew that going into it and more and more we find it not working.
This post is not a sad one though. All restaurants have life spans, and while ours was shorter than we hoped, we got to spend nearly two years telling a beautiful story of food, wine, and cheese. We've got to welcome so many of you into our family and you welcomed us right back into yours.
We also took a big chance and that's refreshing. Always swing for the fences. We need more people taking chances, and while I don't think we'll go down in BG legend, I do think a lot of you will kick back with a smile on your face and think, "Man, that was a fun place." That smile makes it worth it.
Please come see the team this week and let them say their goodbyes. We hope some of them will be sticking around as we transition the space to its next use, hopefully bringing downtown Bowling Green another new and exciting concept.
Finally, words cannot express how much I have enjoyed working with to bring this concept to life. Rajna is the epitome of professionalism and class all the way through. Her hard work and dedication are so appreciated, and she will forever be part of our family.
