We are 98 days from opening day! Double digit countdown!

Items Needed:
•HUNTING LICENSE AND TAGS *Keep these essential documents in a secure, waterproof bag.
•BOW & ARROWS *Make sure your bow is tuned, arrows are in good condition, and you have extras. We recommend a heavier-weight arrow over a lightweight one (somewhere in the 500-600 total arrow weight). We also recommend Iron Will broadheads, but any fixed-blade broadhead will work fine. We DO NOT recommend mechanical broadheads. Practice with your set-up and be proficient up to 60 yards.
*Do not wait until the last minute to shoot or sight in your bow for the first time! Practice, practice, practice! Be comfortable and confident with your bow before bringing it on your hunt.
•BOW SLING! This is an ESSENTIAL item. You must use a bow sling when riding horseback for comfort to and from locations.
•HIGH-QUALITY HIKING BOOTS *We recommend Kenetrek, Crispi, La Sportiva, or Schnees boots.
*DO NOT WAIT TO BREAK IN YOUR HUNTING BOOTS!
•TOP AND BOTTOM THERMALS *Try to get wool!
•TOP AND BOTTOM OUTER LAYERS
•RAIN GEAR- ESSENTIAL
•PUFFY COAT
•HIGH-QUALITY WOOL SOCKS
•HEADLAMP
•HIKE PACK *You do not need a giant frame pack- just a good quality day pack will be great!
•SLEEPING BAG *Your pick! We recommend a +15-degree bag or colder. (expect 20-30 degree nights and potentially up to 80 degrees during the days)
•GLASSING PAD
•BINOS- Either 8x42 or 10x42
•RANGE FINDER
•HYDRATION SYSTEM- Able to hold at least 1 liter of water.
•WATER FILTRATION- Water tablets or Steripen in case of emergency. We will have water filtration systems in the camp.
•KILL KIT- Game bags, Nitrile Gloves, Knife, Knife Sharpener, Small Sandwich Ziplock Bag, Electrical Tape
•SUNGLASSES
•CAMP SHOES- Bring some comfortable shoes to slip on and wear around when you are at camp!

Some good points in there….
Does anyone have a good argument against corner crossing or do you think it’s all about greed?

Let’s look at the landowner argument on corner crossing. They say they are worried people will trespass, wander off the public corner, cut across private land, or use corner crossing as an excuse to violate property rights. Fine. That is a real concern. But if a homeowner in town is worried someone might break into his house, he does not get to block off the whole street and tell everybody else they cannot walk down it. That street is not his.

If somebody trespasses, prosecute them. If somebody damages your property, go after them. But you do not get to block the public from public land because you are worried someone might break the law. I do not get to violate your rights, and you do not get to violate mine. Corner crossing is not about violating property rights. It is about protecting property rights. public land is all of our property and nobody gets to violate our property rights. Public land is not yours just because you own the land beside it just like your neighbors house doesn’t belong to you just because they live next to you.
