The dehydration process we use at Jackfruit Land is one of the oldest and still used food preservation methods because it has many benefits.
The technique consists of eliminating most of the water from the food taking advantage of certain climatic conditions. These are dry air, high temperatures and sunlight, also avoiding the contamination of molds and bacteria.
🌱It allows to preserve food in hermetic containers for long periods of time. They can even be kept for years, depending on the degree of dehydration that the food has.
🌱Food flavors intensify.
🌱Maintains the nutritional properties of food. If we do not exceed 45ºC when we dehydrate, the enzymes in the food will remain intact, as well as the water-soluble vitamins and the rest of the nutrients.
🌱It allows us to preserve surplus food that we do not have time to consume fresh.
🌱They reduce the storage space of food and facilitate its transport.
🌱It is ideal for preserving and taking advantage of the food of each season. This way we can dehydrate JACKFRUIT when it is its season and consume it without problems during the rest of the year.
🌱We reduce food waste. Dehydration is an ideal method to take advantage of fruits and vegetables that we do not have time to consume.
🌱Consume more fruits and vegetables. Having a variety of dehydrated fruits and vegetables on hand can be invigorating when cooking and allows you to add more plant-based ingredients to your dishes.
🌱Experiment with new textures. You can choose to cut the food into very subtle slices to reduce drying times, or leave it whole to rehydrate it when you are going to use it. Also, you can pulverize the vegetables to easily add them in cold soups, smoothies, infusions, etc. and reduce the preparation times of your menus.
