Celebrate the End of May with Woods!

The end of May signals that its safe to plant all plant varieties outdoors! Come celebrate this shift in the season with us at Woods. Not only do we have an abundance of annual flowers, vines, organic veggie and herb starts, but we also have trees, shrubs, perennials, groundcovers, grasses, ferns, and more! We have a wide variety of native pollinator plants to keep our native pollinator population happy and healthy. We have plants that thrive in the sun, some that thrive in the sun, others that prefer dry conditions, and then more that prefer wet conditions. So no matter the specific conditions of your garden, we have a wonderful selection of plants that will work well for you.

We're open every day from 10 - 5, rain or shine. Come on by!

For all you perennial lovers!

We're placing more perennial orders this week. Are there any varieties of trees, shrubs, bushes, groundcovers, or any other perennial that you wish we offered, or have had a hard time finding elsewhere? Or just something special that you've had on your mind? If you let us know by noon on Tuesday May 19th we will try to order what you're looking for. No promises that we'll be able to get it, but we'll try! We're here to grow with you!

Our farmstand opens this Saturday, May 2nd at 10! Our flowers, annuals, herbs, vegetable starts, and hanging baskets have been loving this sunny weather. We are excited to offer a wider range of varieties this season, including dahlias, thunbergia, dragonwing begonias, and so many different types of petunias, calibrachoas, zinnias, lisianthus, and impatiens to name a few. We also have expanded our selection of perennials, shrubs, fruit trees, and native pollinator plants!

Our Flower CSA is back this season! By signing up for a share, we will harvest you a custom bouquet every week from June 18 - September 10! Dahlias, lisianthus, zinnias, cosmos, snapdragons, asters, sunflowers, roselillies, eucalyptus, the list of varieties that we are growing is extensive and exciting! Happy Spring Equinox! Our free-choice CSA is now open for sign ups for the upcoming season! This CSA is a win-win because it helps us enormously to get help with all of our up-front costs for the season, and we give our CSA members extra cash credit towards all of our products, including food all of the products we carry from other local producers. An update on our Jamaican Crew:

Thank you so much to all who donated to our GoFundMe and our food drive! We were able to fill four 55 gallon drums, one for each of our workers, to ship to Jamaica in the next few days. We are still accepting donations on our GoFundMe page!

We continue to hear more updates from our workers now that power has been restored on parts of the island. Sadly they all suffered some level of damage to their homes or properties. We've heard harrowing stories of how they sought safety once the storm hit, and how they've managed to get by in the devastating aftermath. Ivan sent us these photos, showing extreme destruction to his property and community. After a long, hot, dry season keeping this farm alive during the worst drought in our farm's history, it's so unfortunate that they have to spend their winter rebuilding after suffering so many losses in the storm.

Today is the Farmstand’s last day of the season! We still have lots of great veggies and products available, including the SWEETEST watermelons we’ve had all season (who knew frost-sweetened watermelon was a thing?!). Come stock up for the winter while you have the chance!
