Unbeknownst to us tragedy struck on Monday. Tuesday morning we found a guinea hen dead in the coop with fresh blood on her carapace. Tonight we went to harvest the guinea clutch to refill the incubator (clutch pictured below from 8/10) and found it devastated. Evidently a predator wounded the guinea hen and ate the whole clutch! The guineas will move the nest and it will be on us to find it again! Egg hunt in August.

What's in the incubator? Our grow out pen for American Bresse is full, so until our next batch gets processed..... we have an incubator full of pearl guinea fowl eggs!
