So, had some bad luck last night as I suspect many others did. However, allow me to showcase a phenomenal team of experts. Garrison’s Tree Service responded within minutes. Jeff and his wife (a family run business) showed up and took over. Within an hour, a fleet of trucks and crews were working (in the dangerous winds keep in mind). Jeff even drove to Walmart last night to make sure we had tarps for the damages…what an extra step. He also gave me a list of roofers and others that can help. I vividly remember him saying to me “don’t worry, we got this”.

The episode of having a tree destroy parts of the house is stressful enough. But Jeff and his crew did an excellent job at making a stressful situation as best as it can. For anyone dealing with tree removal or God forbid, a tree or limbs into the house…most definitely call Garrison’s Tree Service. Thank you Jeff!!!

Happy first day of Fall!!! Not the best weather I suppose, but it’s (in my opinion) the best time of the year.

Thank you to everyone that stopped by and supported our little farm stand…and on behalf of all of those family stands in this area, it is truly appreciated how so many recognize the quality and passion for home gardening.

Our stand was taken down last night in prep for the weather. However, we already started preparing for fall favorites. Pumpkin was roasted last night, apples put into the slow cooker (for a 16 hour cook), butter nut squash picked in prep for soups and pies, candles being made with favorite fall scents.

We will announce when the stand is back up. Have an enjoyable weekend, stay safe this weekend for those along the path of Ophelia.

On the stand today, heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, and egg plant.

The heirloom tomatoes are great in salads or sauces. They have a rich flavor to them. Some are in the “everything is 50 cents” box…which is a great deal for organic heirlooms.

I have also picked some smaller egg pants, recognizing that some prefer the smaller, less seedy ones. They are priced different as well, based on size. The smaller ones fry well if making egg plant parm.

I am harvesting the last of the Cherry and grape tomatoes. Recommendation…try making marinara with the cherry tomatoes…they bring a sweet taste with less seeds. They are only a dollar a basket, and we will have dozens upon dozens of baskets.

Romas are next. I am just waiting to sun ripe them a little more to bring out the taste.

Finally. In the next couple of weeks, the basil will get harvested. This is fresh, organic basil that compliments the tomatoes well. Bags of basil are ready now upon request.

Have a suggestion or request…message us. We encourage your recipe ideas or garden secrets to share.

Hello everyone. Thank you for all of the support to this point with our little farm stand…and your support in all the family run stands in the area.

We just cleared our stock of apple butter. New batches will start as soon as next week, followed by apple pies and apple pie filling. Our fall candles and wax melts are in the works. This is all soy wax, with little to no annoying smoke from many mass made candles. We even have some without scent, for those that like the ambience of candles, but can’t tolerate some of the scents.

There are several tomatoes just about to turn red, so watch out for fresh jersey tomatoes. Plump egg plant picked today, but hurry they go fast.

If anyone wants any fresh basil or mint, send us a message. I will package that up for you.

Thank you…
