For anyone that has to release horses/set them free as a last resort from the fires, please read:

1) When letting horses out of stalls or pastures, CLOSE ALL of the stall doors/gates once they are set free. When horses are panicked, they will usually go back to their stall or pasture, which will likely trap them in the fire.

2) Write your name/phone number on your horses’s hooves in sharpie OR with spray paint/paint on their body. You can also tie something in their mane/tail, but there’s a chance it could get snagged on something or burned.

3) Leave all halters off — they will burn into the sides of their face and can get caught on fencing/objects.

My thoughts are with all that are impacted by these devastating fires. Please be smart and stay safe ❤️

I like this David Cobb, because when I was little my dad would take us to the mountains.
We didn't have running water, or electricity, but we had each other.
We didn't need a phone, TV or radio those were left at home.
I had my dad's attention because there weren't electronics to steal him away. It was the best times.
