First Sap boil last Friday went great! So much to learn and most definitely lotsa fun! Finished product was only about 1.5 pints from 10 gallons of sap. Taste was outta this world ! Notes of toasted marshmallows and vanilla. EXCELLENT. We are boiling again today and since the sap is running so well today we will again tomorrow. So worth it.

It’s Sugaring season here in Brookline Vt. and we are tapping our few large red maple trees. It’s perfect weather for a good sap run, nights in the 20’s and daytime highs in the 40’s. We already got a few gallons of sap and will boil in a couple days. It wont make more than a gallon of syrup or so, but it’s thrilling to experience our first run. We will keep you updated as we progress.

Hey Hey Peach Jamboree fans and family: We have a big announcement that we are excited to share with you all. As you know Danny and I have been looking for the right folks to take over our land and at last the right farmers have stepped up to the plate to take the farm into it’s new identity. Just as Carl Rosato, the founder of Woodleaf Farm, handed the reins over to us in 2015 when he retired, we are now passing that stewardship responsibility to the next generation. This summer we collaborating together with the new farmers to show them how to continue the legacy of perfectly ripened, flavorful fruit brought to you at the farmers markets. So with great fanfare we introduce to you Hayley and Jesse and the farm’s new name Double Wild Farm. Both of them have deep roots in the organic farming community and have backgrounds in fruit, vegetable, flower production as well as dairy. This is a whole new, exciting and challenging chapter for them so we are doing everything we possibly can to support them and show them the ropes but now its up to you as our awesome encouraging loving network of customers and friends to help them as they step into the trials and triumphs of having their own farm. We know how loyal and devoted you all are, so we hope this announcement only galvanizes that foundational support that small farms like this one depend on to continue the hard work of growing exceptional produce. You will find them at all the same farmer’s markets just as you have been so far this summer. Please follow their new instagram .

Despite the terrorizing wildfires in our county right now, the farm is currently not in harms way. We will be attending wknd markets: Saturday Chico mkt, Downtown Berkeley, as well as Sunday San Rafael civic Ctr and Sunday Sebastopol mkts. Come get some of the first beautiful and big Suncrest peaches or the sumptuous Red Queens. Also one more fling with everyone’s favorite June Pride peach. See you this weekend.

Yum! We’re having some June Pride peaches on a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream from our goats milk. Get yourself some of these peaches this weekend. Our lineup is Downtown Berkeley or Chico market Saturday and San Rafael Civi Ctr or Sebastopol on Sunday!

Hey folks, it’s been a stressful week at the farm with the fire so close by. Here are some pics to share. Smoke column is from Tuesday midday before evacuations, and the second is a VLAT (very large air tanker) cruising over the orchard to drop retardant on nearby hillsides. We are so grateful for the impressive work the fire crews did to keep us out of trouble. We are sticking close to the farm tho for this weekend as the weather is so hot and the critical fire conditions are not reassuring. We wont be at our usual market spread this weekend, but hopefully by next week we will be back for a consistent stretch of tasty peaches all summer long. We really appreciated all the message of care and concern that came our way, and sorry about the late posting, it’s been a tad chaotic with all the protection work that we needed to focus on here at the farm.
