Belfast Flying Shoes Meet and Greet here at the MRC!

BFS is a proud affiliate member of the Country Dance & Song Society (CDSS). We’re thrilled that CDSS Board President, David Smukler, is visiting Waldo County in May. Come to a social hour at the Marsh River Co-op before the May 15 Brooks dance, to share and to learn! Share what is on your mind, related to our local culture of participatory music and dance! Learn about CDSS programs like camps, podcasts, web chats, and more; details of CDSS membership benefits; and other awesome ways CDSS uplifts dance, song, and music traditions across the continent. We’ll visit and enjoy light snacks in the gallery seating area at the Co-op, 5 Veteran’s Hwy, Brooks. As a bonus, Toki Oshima — BFS dancer/musician and CDSS camp participant/camp staff — is the featured artist!

Local Artist Toki Oshima at the MRC!

Toki Oshima will be having an Art Opening at the Marsh River Coop in Brooks for her show titled “tiny paintings of everyday life” on Saturday, May 9 from 2-3:30pm. 

The subjects are all depicting simple, rural life, and the paintings are 2”x2” to 4”x4” in size. The show will be on display through June.

 

Toki lives in Belfast, studied at Portland School of Art, (now MECA) and is the illustrator for MOFGA since 1992. She has a notecard company selling locally and at www.tokiart.com

Hi Everyone,

Next Saturday is our Annual Co-op cleanup day. Our volunteers have always done a great job making the Co-op look spiffy for the summer as well as helping with general cleaning/moving items and lending their time and energy to make the Co-op succeed. We'd love to see you there!

Marsh River Cooperative Spring Cleanup Day

Hi Everyone,
Spring time is fast approaching and we are looking to plan our Annual Spring Cleanup Day to get the Co-op into tip top shape for summer. First we want to thank everyone that came out last year and made the day a success. We'd love to have your continued support and energies again this year! Thank you to our membership and wonderful Brooks community.

We are open this coming Sunday and we are also expanding our hours slightly. We've been experimenting with staying open until 6pm on Sundays the last few weeks and it feels like folks found it helpful so we are going to give a try for the long term!

New Hours are as follows;

Sunday - Thursday 10:00am - 6:00pm
Friday - Saturday 10:00am - 7:00pm
