In the early 1970′s, the Scarmardo family saw the need for fresh, quality produce in the Brazos Valley area. That vision became a reality in 1974 when they opened the doors to the Farm Patch, a unique fruit and vegetable stand that included all types of food products, flowers and bedding plants. It has become widely known and recognized for its quality, freshness, fair pricing and overall “Old Market” appeal. Over the next several years, the Farm Patch continued to grow to become a leading source of produce in the Brazos Valley. With offices next door to the Farm Patch, a sales force made up of family members and friends began servicing a customer base of up to 100 miles from Bryan/College Station. The word spread quickly that they were capable of delivering the same quality products as what was available at the Farm Patch retail location. Their customers had entrusted them with their growing need for quality fresh produce, and the Scarmardo family made it a priority to service that need. In February of 1989, Scarmardo Inc. partnered with what is now UniPro Foodservice, Inc. is the leading foodservice distribution network in the United States. Comprising over 650 shareholder companies, each distributor is independently owned, marketing the products and services provided by UniPro Foodservice. With a collective sales volume of over $58 BILLION, the buying power of UniPro enables its members to receive enhanced purchasing opportunities, thereby providing better pricing and a vast array of products to their customers. Products and service, second to none, are first and foremost in the minds of every Scarmardo employee. Our commitment to you is to service you and your business with impeccable standards.
