Hey y’all! Welcome back to the page! Our adorable farmhand willow says welcome back!

As winter finally starts melting away, and spring is approaching (even if it is painfully slow😅) it seems the flocks can sense that springis in the air! We’re finally starting to see more eggs from our chickens and our ducks have just starting to resume laying!

I hope within the next few days I’ll be back on here making another post, and my girls can yet again provide our amazing friends with farm fresh eggs for another long, and successful season!

Merry Christmas from all of our flock to yours! Can’t wait to see what 2026 brings to our ever growing Flock!

I like to think our flock’s favorite time of year is anytime around a holiday, because whatever their humans don’t eat, is for the birds🐔🐓(in moderation of course☺️)

What a year!! Hey there friends of the flock!

I decided that as this years laying season was coming to a close, I’d share some of my favorite photos that I have acquired this past year. As well as drop a photo of myself for all of those who may not know me

Hi! I’m Morgan, me and my family had a crazy idea to get some chickens on a whim to three years ago. 8 chickens quickly spiraled into 50+ chickens, and 7 waterfowl. I love my birds, they bring me so much joy and they make me laugh with their goofy personalities when I need it most.

I am so grateful for every single one of you who has helped support me, and help me reinvest in my birds so they can live the best, most spoiled lifes that they deserve. The girls are going to be taking some time off this winter, relaxing and snacking so that next year we can again provide all of you with the best eggs that you all have come to expect from us.

Thank you again, my friends of the flock! We’ll see ya all in 2026, and we look forward to meeting even more people, and sharing our eggs.❤️

She’s bald!

Technically yes. But in chicken it’s called molting!
Welcome back to a slightly different meet the flock Monday with Sprite, one of our Silkies, here to help us learn about molting!

Molting is the natural process where chickens lose old feathers to grow new ones. This is a period that can last anywhere between 4-16 weeks depending on the individual chicken. During this time, egg production typically stops or slows significantly as the hen redirects energy to feather production, which requires extra protein and nutrients.
Common signs of molting include finding feathers, a scruffy appearance, and sometimes a decrease in activity.
For us Sprite is one of our girls who takes a longer time to molt, she always has, meaning she always looks a little rough longer than some of our girls. And her molting allows us to see her beautiful darker skin that sillies are known for.
