HEADING INTO DAY TWO OF PICKLE FEST… 🥒
First, thank you to the thousands of people who joined us yesterday! We welcomed far more visitors than we ever expected. We bought literal pallets of pickles—and you all bought them, ate them, and sold us out of many things! We are restocking, regrouping, and getting ready to do it all again today.
As we head into Day Two, we do want to offer a gentle reminder: Darnell Farms is a small, family-owned working farm—not Disney World. We are farmers putting together a big, fun community event, and our family, employees, vendors, musicians, and volunteers have worked incredibly hard to make it happen.
These free events require months of planning, long days, sleepless nights, and a tremendous financial investment all while trying to balancing a tough year in farming. They are often more expensive than profitable. We continue doing them because we love entertaining our community and giving families an affordable place to spend time together.
With crowds this large, please arrive with an open mind and a little patience. There may be lines. Parking may take time. Items may sell out—even when we purchased them by the pallet. Our independent vendors may also sell out or offer something different than you expected. We proudly support them, but we cannot control their prices, menus, inventory, or every decision they make.
We welcome legitimate concerns and constructive feedback. However, rushing online to leave a damaging review over a small inconvenience—or speaking cruelly about our employees and vendors—is not constructive or fair. We are real people working as hard and as quickly as we possibly can.
So please come ready to have fun, give one another a little grace, and remember that you are visiting a small farm that has taken on the enormous task of hosting a very big event.
To the overwhelming majority of you who have been patient, kind, encouraging, and excited to be here: THANK YOU. You are why we keep doing this.
