🍍🌵 Pineapple barrel cactus is BACK! This amazing desert fruit is delicious and so good for you - high in vitamin C with protein-packed seeds. We have both jam and syrup in stock, which can be used for all kinds of recipes: the syrup is great on pancakes and waffles, and makes a nice citrusy marinade for chicken and fish!

As you may have seen, the effects of the US government shutdown might extend to food benefits, further impacting an already vulnerable portion of our community and neighbors. As a part of Arizona Community Farmers Market group, the health and viability of our communities has been and always will be our mission and food security a main priority.

Pinnacle Prevention is implementing a voucher system that will give EBT card holders $10 in green vouchers that can be spent with farmers only and $30 in orange vouchers that can be spent with all regular vendors who accept EBT. These vouchers are available once per day per card for the month of November at our Roadrunner and Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Markets. Please see the info booth at either of these markets to learn what assistance is available to help you.

Sonoran Scavengers will be providing any medium-size jar (jam, jelly, pasta sauce, etc.) or a 1/2 lb bag of granola or gluten-free flour for EBT and SNAP community members using these vouchers. We are a community, we support each other, and we are here to help ❤️

This Friday and Saturday, September 26 and 27, we are hitting the road and crossing state lines to be a vendor at the 7th Annual New Mexico Prickly Pear Festival! We love joining our neighbors in celebration of all things prickly pear, a delicious and important food of the southwest. Come find us outside the Gutierrez Hubbell House and try our wide variety of prickly pear jellies, syrups, flour, and spices!

Prickly pear is the perfect combination of food and medicine — it is high in Vitamin C and helps with inflammation and blood circulation, as well as stabilizing A1C blood sugars. It tastes wonderful and adds a gorgeous pop of color to any dish!
