There are so many amazing small businesses and local families putting their heart into what they do right here in our communities. ❤️

Tell us one of your favorites in the comments! ⬇️

Let’s give some local businesses a little love, and maybe help someone discover their new favorite! 🫶🏻

Imagine you have $20 to spend on food this week.

You could spend it at a big box store and never know who grew your food, where it came from, or how many hands it passed through before reaching you.

Or…

You could spend that $20 with a local farmer.

Maybe you buy tomatoes.

Maybe you grab some fresh bread.

Maybe you pick up eggs, flowers, or a few things for dinner.

That $20 might help a farmer buy seeds for next season.

It might help a small farm pay for feed.

It might help a local baker buy ingredients.

It might help a family keep doing what they love.

Your $20 doesn’t just buy food.

It tells your community:

I want local farms to still be here.

I want my neighbors to succeed.

I care about where my food comes from.

I want my community to have access to locally grown food.

You don’t have to buy everything locally.

But every time you choose to spend even a little of your grocery budget with a local farmer or small business, you’re casting a vote for the kind of community you want to live in.

So where will your next $20 go? 🌱

Tag someone who believes in supporting local farms. ❤️

When was the last time you met the person who grew your food?

Not the cashier.

Not the grocery store manager.

The actual person who planted the seed, pulled the weeds, watered the plants, picked the tomatoes, gathered the eggs, or baked the bread.

There’s something pretty special about being able to walk up to your farmer and say:

“How did you grow this?”

And get an actual answer.

That connection matters.

It means you can ask questions. You can learn what’s in season. You can discover new foods. You can build relationships with the people feeding your community.

And your farmer gets to know you too.

We think that’s one of the most important things a farmers market can offer.

Not just food.

Connection. Transparency. Community.

So the next time you’re at the market, don’t just shop.

Talk to your farmer. Ask questions. Get to know the people behind your food.

That’s where the magic happens.

Do you know the name of the person who grows your food? Here’s a few photos of some of our favorite farmers!💚

Why does shopping local matter more right now?

Honestly… maybe more than it ever has.

When you buy your food at a farmers market, you have the opportunity to ask questions.

Who grew this?
Where did it come from?
How was it grown?
When was it harvested?

You can meet the farmer who planted the seed, the baker who made the bread, the person raising the eggs, or the family preserving food from their own garden.

At a time when we’re hearing more about food recalls, supply-chain issues, and wondering what exactly is making its way onto our grocery store shelves, knowing where your food comes from matters.

Shopping local doesn’t mean you have to buy everything at the farmers market.

Maybe it’s a dozen eggs.
A basket of tomatoes.
A loaf of sourdough.
A bouquet of flowers.
A jar of something homemade.
Or simply choosing one local farmer or small business to support each week.

Those small choices add up.

And your money goes somewhere different when you spend it locally. It helps a farmer buy seed. It helps a small baker buy flour. It helps a family keep their farm going. It stays in our community and helps build something here.

We believe a farmers market should be more than a place to buy vegetables.

It should be a place where you know your farmers.
Where you can ask questions.
Where children learn where food comes from.
Where neighbors become friends.
And where we work together to build a stronger, more resilient local food system.

So this Saturday, come see us.

Shop local. Ask questions. Know your farmer. Feed your family. Invest in your community.

And if you believe this matters too, share this post. ❤️

Because supporting local food isn’t just about what we’re buying.

It’s about what we’re building.

🍅 IT’S TOMATO SEASON! 🍅

Our tables are overflowing with those beautiful, juicy summer tomatoes, and now is the perfect time to stock up! ❤️

Don’t just enjoy them fresh, save some of that summer goodness for winter! Freeze tomatoes for soups and sauces, dehydrate them for an extra-concentrated flavor, or turn them into homemade pasta sauce, salsa, bruschetta, or tomato jam. 🍝🍅

There’s nothing better than opening a jar or pulling a bag of summer tomatoes from the freezer in the middle of winter and getting a little taste of the garden all over again. 🥰

Come get your tomatoes while they’re here! Shop local, stock your pantry, and make the most of tomato season! 🌱❤️
