Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages of support and concern. We want to take a moment to clarify why the original announcement about this year's market closure is no longer available for comment.

Unfortunately, the thread devolved into a political debate that strayed far from the intent of our message and the mission of the market. Our goal has always been to support farmers, producers, and the local families who depend on them. We are not here to argue ideology. We are here to grow food and create spaces where local farms can thrive during the market season.

The decision to pause the market this year was made with great difficulty, out of respect for the economic pressures our vendors are facing. It had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with protecting the sustainability of small farms.

We remain committed to finding long-term, community-based solutions, and we are grateful to those who continue to walk alongside us with care and understanding.

Dear Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce there will be no market this year. This decision did not come lightly. Unfortunately, the recent implementation of new tariffs, coupled with disruptions in cross-border traffic from St. Stephen, has created significant challenges for small business and small farmers.

WIth a substantial increase in the cost of the required insurance rider for hosting the market and after careful consideration, we determined that the financial burden would prevent participating farmers from recouping their expenses—a risk we cannot in good conscience ask them to take.

We remain committed to supporting our local agricultural community and will continue exploring sustainable ways to bring fresh, local goods to you in the future. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

We hope you look for us next year.

It's Tuesday and that means it's Market Day in Calais!
We have a HUGE variety of fresh produce today. And, we have a lobster mushrooms, chanterelles, and other products.

We accept WIC - Hancock & Washington Counties and Maine SNAP-Ed.

Located in Flat Iron Park (formerly Triangle Park) on the Village Green. (Why does this have so many names???) Anyway, come say hi and take home something green! (or Peachy, or Red).

Today is market day!!! Come on down to Flat Iron Park (formerly Triangle Park) and grab some of the best made-to- order wood-fired pizza you’ll have, farm fresh eggs, and MOFGA certified organic vegetables!

Today we have: two types of kale,
three types of lettuces (Bibb, Mesclun mix, and Argula), a few Zucchini and cucumbers, Beet greens, tons of Garlic scapes, radishes, basil, Teas, grass-fed Beef, whole pasture-raised frozen Chicken and more! Yum!
