Shout out to for stepping UP during this critical time of need in our community!

Because November SNAP Benefits are on hold in Michigan, immediate program changes to support customers and farmers market vendors will be made.

What’s Happening with SNAP:
- No new SNAP funds are expected to be added to EBT cards in November.
- Any SNAP funds already on EBT cards can still be used.
- Customers can still earn and spend Double Up Food Bucks at your site.

What’s Changing with Double Up – Effective Immediately:
- Unlimited earning: The $20 per day limit is lifted. Customers can now match their full SNAP purchase amount with DUFB.
- No expiration on earnings: Double Up Card earnings and DUFB tokens will not expire.
- Frozen produce eligible: Customers can spend DUFB on frozen fruits and vegetables with no added salt, sugar, or oil.

What Start’s Now- For Token Sites (Farmers Markets):
- We will Match the entire SNAP purchase (round down to the nearest even dollar).
Example: Customer buys $45 in SNAP tokens or spends $45 on their EBT card → issue $44 in DUFB tokens.
- Shoppers can now use DUFB to buy frozen fruits and vegetables with no added salt, oil, or sugar.
- Market vendors can accept DUFB tokens for these eligible frozen items.

Other community resources:

Calumet Free Fridge, Michigan Tech University Husky FAN Pantry, Western Upper Peninsula Food Bank (Houghton), The Salvation Army of Hancock, Cooper Country Angel Mission (Calumet). Check with your local church pantry’s.

SNAP Update: No new SNAP benefits are being issued in November due to a pause in federal funding.
✅ But Double Up Food Bucks is still here to help. If you have SNAP dollars on your card, you can still:
✔️ Use them
✔️ Earn an unlimited match per day
✔️ Spend previously earned Double Up bucks — no expiration
❄️ Plus, you can now use Double Up for frozen fruits & veggies (no added sugar, salt, or oil) at all participating locations.

These changes are in effect until December 31, 2025.
