The botanical scientific name is “Persica Mill”. Posed from the Middle Latin language, obviously, through the Middle Lower German language. Serednyolatinsk ser. lat. persica "peach" in lat. persicum (derived from Lat. mālum, Russian “peach apple”), which is a form of the neuter genus of the Lat. persicus "Persian", created as Persian. Persa (from Greek Πέρσης).

In other languages, the name grew up. peach, white peach

Call it brosliva, bruskvina, broskvina - formed from the Middle Latin language (among the Slavic languages, mainly through Polish mediation).

Ukrainian forms on bre- are obviously associated with the old Czech name břěskev, the form “boroskva” - from the angle. barack "apricot".

It is a cultigen that arose as a result of multiple introgressive hybridization between: Hansuan peach, amazing peach, David peach, common almond, Chinese plum, common apricot, cherry plum. Not found in the wild.
