It's been a rough couple years, but we are getting back into action! It might not look like it because we are cutting back hours this winter, but we hope to make some big changes over this cold season, so we can be back better next Spring/Summer. This is an optimistic projection - it will likely take longer to complete the plan, but we're going to keep working at it until its finished. More to come:)

Unfortunately, we have some terrible news to share. Adon has recently been diagnosed with a low grade glioma and will undergo brain surgery on Oct. 31 to have it removed. We will not have a prognosis until after surgery, but friends and family are all hopeful. We are very lucky we caught it as early as we did.

If you can, please consider donating to our GoFundMe page set up by Adon's good friend, Josh. Since I (Ali) have been recovering from severe scoliosis and some of the secondary effects of that disorder, Adon has been everyone's rock and has carried this business almost entirely by himself. I am continuing to improve, but I am not yet capable of filling his enormous shoes in his absence during the recovery period. We have a lot of friends and family pledging physical help with the property and running the store, but the bills don't stop when your body does. Literally ANYTHING will help.

We hope to continue to see you around Canyon Creek for a long time to come. Hopefully this will just be a hiccup in the long story we write at this beautiful, historic place we get to call home.💙💙

You can't buy community, but you can buy a country store and try to create it😉

We've been quiet for a while with a lot of personal/life things going on, but we have BIG plans for this spring/summer! The first is the impending completion of the "addition" we have been renovating for the past 10 months or so (store life is BUSY!). Flooring is being installed soon (whatever that means🤣) and I promise to post a video once we are done for those who haven't stopped by in a while.

We are SO excited to create a community space in the building and hope to foster an environment where everyone will be welcome just the way they are. We are very happy at the prospect of providing a space for gathering, engaging, and enjoying each other as human beings. Art and music are a big deal to us around here, so we also hope to find some fun outlets for our creative energies this summer.

12 Days of Christmas, Day 10 (a day late again...): Range of Light Jewelry.

Range of Light products are made by Carrie Johnson, an old firefighting friend of Adon's (old friend, not old person😉). I'll let her summary speak for itself (see photo); we LOVE her stuff and so do many of our customers! I tried to put out as much variety in our small display space as possible, but we have a great deal of "backstock", especially rings, so just ask and we will pull them out for you.

Working on additional jewelry display case this weekend, so hopefully by the new year we can display all of Carrie's awesome work in a space where we're not breathing down your neck as you browse (i.e., the checkout counter)🤣🤣

I will not slack on my second post later today ("Day 11")...I promise...

12 Days of Christmas, day 9 (a day late😉): Baba Looey flies and jewelry.

I posted about Taryn's products before, but he has been making more fun items and they deserve another highlight! We're hoping soon we can have a dedicated Baba Looey display and a wider selection of flies once the space is available to us.

I doubt a very many folks are headed outside today unless it's absolutely necessary, but if you are, be safe and layer up! I'll post another product feature this afternoon, but I did switch it up so you can select any "brand" for the 20% discount on any day. We will also be offering 20% off all items featured on Saturday, Dec. 24th, but our hours will be limited to 10am-2pm, so we can enjoy the holiday, as well.

Note: I believe Monday is a postal holiday, so we will likely be closed. We will confirm this today and when I post "Day 10" later today I'll report my findings.

12 Days of Christmas, day 8: Granite Butte Solutions home, health, and beauty products.

Since the weather and roads are so bad lately, we've decided to switch this up to a "pick your product" 20% off deal. So scratch the different item(s) each day on sale, you can pick any one brand any day to receive the 20% off deal. We know we're somewhat out of the way for folks, and I've come to feel it isn't very fair to be so limiting, so we're adapting😉

So, Granite Butte Solutions is a 1-woman operation based in Lincoln, MT. All products are essential-oil based and all natural. Here's a bit about each of these products:

Disinfectant sprays: Sold in a refillable glass spray bottle pre-mixed. Buy the small dropper bottle of concentrate and refill over and over again with no additional waste. The "4 Robbers" blend is a bit strong in cinnamon for my tastes, but it's a powerful essential oil cleaning blend that's been used for hundreds of years. If you want an alternative blend, there Herbilicious Cleaning Solution is what I use and I've been very pleased.

Air freshener sprays: Right now we are carrying Apple Cider and Home for the Holidays. Both are lovely fall/winter scents. We hope to have some more "year-round" scent varieties once we get the addition finished and we have more space for these types of products.

Restless leg spray: What can I say but that this is a super cool idea! I don't have this ailment myself, but I've known a few people who have it and I'd say this stuff is worth a shot! The maker of these goods does have RSI and I'm pretty sure she wouldn't peddle the blend if it wasn't helpful😉

Lip balm: I have to admit I haven't tried it yet, but from reading the ingredients it looks as if it would also double as a lovely cracked hand/foot rub.

Revitalizing serum: I LOVE THIS STUFF! It has visibly reduced my fine lines and wrinkles and isn't particularly greasy. I'd highly recommend this item! It's emu oil-based, so not vegetarian - I know this matters to some folks, so just wanted to make mention of that.

Laundry detergent: Powdered mix with only the most basic cleaning agent ingredients. We've been using it and it works really well.

Granite Butte Solutions has a lot more products than this to offer and we'd love to hear any suggestions of additional items you'd like us to carry. The owner of GBS is very open to suggestions, so feel free to share some ideas if you have them.
