I took a picture of an extraordinary setting sun Saturday evening on my way back to Cape Vincent and was disappointed that it looked like a…hamburger.

When I researched the cause of my photo issue, the “hamburger sun” seems to be a rare atmospheric phenomenon called a “mock mirage sunset” caused by different temperatures of layers of air refracting (bending) sunlight near the horizon.

I’d never heard of this!

I’m the youngest of five kids. As every fifth kid knows, hand-me-downs are a way of life! I have three older brothers and there were a lot of boy’s Kiwanis baseball, and golf team t-shirts in my childhood. ⚾️

Consequently, over the years I have become pretty good at finding well-made clothes at reasonable prices. A shipment of women’s vests and jackets (sizes M- XXL) has arrived and are very good condition, or are new with tags.

Originally priced as high as $700, they’re now just $35-75. With this weekend’s predicted weather, you might find exactly what you need! ☔️
