While I'm behind on posting, know that there's been a lot of worn going on at Kocur Pumpkins!
Jack O' Lantern and larger sized orange, white, and warty pumpkins and gourds were pla Ted Memorial Day weekend. They're looking really good so far. Without rain before the plants emerged, we werent able to spray a pre-emergent herbicide. So the weeds are growing fast, too, but we're taking steps to help ensure the weeds don't overtake the pumpkins!
Yesterday was a beautiful day and a full day of work. There were some issues with the tiller, but we finslly got the mini pumpkin field tilled. The we marked the rows and planted just shy of 1000 seeds, which multipy that by 2-4 pumpkins per plant gives you an idea of what we'll harvest this fall, if all goes well. After planting the winds died down and we were able to spray the pre-emergent and get everything put away before quitting for the night.
We're thankful for the rain today to activate the pre-emergent, help the germination of the newly planted seeds, and continue the growth of the larger pumpkin plants!
