Number 11 has probably arrived but I’m not bothering Mama anymore this evening. She has been an exceptional mama to her first hatchlings and has allowed me to check on them.

I just took mama Marigold off her nest for a break. Here she is eating in her pen with a wild rabbit chilling behind her in the background. Day 21 is tomorrow. One egg has pipped and a couple others are wobbling around on their own.

I took mom Marigold off her nest for a food break and time to stretch her legs. A wild bunny photo bombed her in the background while she ate. The second picture shows the first egg that has pipped. So if all goes well, we should have our first chick in about 24 hours.
