🍅Tomato Day is TOMORROW! Market opens at 7:00am, and our Tomato Day event festivities will start around 9:00 AM.

Here’s what you can expect at Tomato Day:

🍅🍅🍅 Samples of heirloom, cherry, sungold, and surprise tomato varieties, fresh from the farmers
🍅🍅🍅 Tomato Day zines with info on all the tomato varieties at the CFM and the farmers who grow them, tomato specials at local Carrboro businesses, recipes, tasting notes, and more
🍅🍅🍅 Guest Chef Oscar from .carrboro sampling delicious phyllo tartlets and tomato and roasted red pepper gazpacho
🍅🍅🍅 Limited-edition Tomato Day merchandise with this year's t-shirt, featuring a tomato jam band, designed by - including multiple colors in unisex and select youth sizes printed by , as well as posters and stickers (✨you can find a pop-up merch station next to the playground!)
🍅🍅🍅 Welcome stations at market entrances with info on local tomatoes and event activities

🚴‍♀️ will host a Tomato Day bike cruise in honor of the event. Cyclists can meet at Back Alley Bikes (100 Boyd St, Carrboro) at 8:00am for an 8:30am rollout. Attendees at Tomato Day who ride their bike to Market can show their helmet to Market staff and receive a free Tomato Day sticker!

🍅 Join us for a kid-sized Tomato Day before the big event this Saturday, July 11th. Members of the Poetic Justice League from Carrboro High School will be joining us with a fun tomato-shaped poetry activity. There will also be a special tomato coloring sheet, tomato samples, and more!

Market Bunch kids activities are FREE and all kids are welcome to participate. Kids who participate in Market Bunch activities can win prizes, like a $5 Bunch Bucks coupon to spend on market fruits and veggies. Tomato season is officially here, and our big 🍅Tomato Day✨ is this Saturday! This afternoon we'll be doing a Kids Tomato Day in anticipation of the big event with fun activities to celebrate all things tomato.

This afternoon you can find all your favorite summer farmers market goodies - seasonal fruits and veggies (peaches, TOMATOES, beans!), ready-to-heat and ready-to-eat meals, sweet treats, local meats and eggs, and more.

🚫As a reminder, 𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 in the Market area during Market hours. Service animals are exempt from this policy.🦮
