The Carrollton Farmers Market will open for 2026 on Thursday, May 21st at 10am. We are looking forward to a HUGE year.
We need Farmers! If you have a garden and have surplus vegetables or fruit each year, please consider joining our other farmers at the market. If interested, please fill out a free Grow Permit at your local extension office. Once you have your grow permit, take it to the Carrollton City hall to fill out your registration and pay your $35 yearly membership.
If you aren’t a farmer, but want to be considered as an artisan, you will need to talk with our Market Manager, Ken Gilliam. If you need his contact information, respond below and I will send his number in a private message. We have a limited number of spots for artisans/crafters. Please remember that to sell at our State Sanctioned Farmers Market, your items must be Homegrown, Homemade or Nature made. No reselling of purchased items.
Our days and hours are:
•Thursdays 10am until 2pm
•Saturdays 8am until Noon

Reminder about our upcoming meeting.

Announcing Alabama Extension’s online Cottage Food Law course!

If you’ve been wanting to start your own cottage food business from home, this course is a great way to get the information you need to get started. The Alabama Extension Food Safety and Quality team has transformed their in-person training into an online option—making it easier to reach more people across the state, including Spanish-speaking residents.

After completing the course, you’ll receive a certificate to submit to the Alabama Department of Public Health.

Don’t forget your growers permit.
An Alabama grower’s permit is a powerful marketing tool that allows growers to sell the raw agricultural products they raise directly to consumers—without paying licensing fees or sales tax. This helps expand markets across the state and increases access to fresh, nutritious Alabama-grown foods.

Just drop by your county Extension office. The friendly folks there will help you out!
