After a day at work and school, 2nd shift was getting the job done yesterday afternoon. Slow process, weekends storm laid a lot of corn on the ground.

Public Servive Announcement: Harvest Season is in full swing. Please be safe on our narrow roads as lots of wide farm equipment is moving from field to field. Most years, April showers bring May flowers this year, July showers bring crop savior. It's hard to believe that we went so long without rain and now with the recent showers the crops are growing at unbound leaps. Two weeks ago this cotton was about 20 inches tall and you could clearly see dirt in the middles. Only proves God is in control, He knows what you need and when you need it! Thank you Lord.

I hate to silk corn and growing up I always heard the saying whoever eats the most corn eats the most silks, well I am carrying on that tradition since I am the one who eats the most corn!!!!! As we approach the Fourth of July, we would like to thank God for allowing us to live in this great country and all the blessings he continues to give. While we typically have sweet corn ready for the 4th, this year the weather has delayed us a bit. We are about 2 weeks out. We will keep you posted. Hi Friends! It been a while since we've had an update from the farm. We are going to try and do a better job keeping you informed, hopefully on all things farm related! Fun fact of the day...
One of the very first American breed of beef cattle, the Santa Gertrudis, was developed on the King Ranch in Southern Texas. Bred in the early 20th century, they were not officially recognized until 1940. Bred to thrive in harsh hot ranching conditions, the original Santa Gertrudis are typically 5/8ths Shorthorn and 3/8ths Indian Brahman.
