Happy Wacky Wednesday just an update, we split our hive and the bees are bringing in lots of pollen from the Black-Eyed Susans, Purple Prairie-Clover,Bee Balm and Wild Bergamot.

BeeCheck registry is a voluntary online mapping tool designed to connect beekeepers and commercial pesticide applicators to help protect honey bee colonies from chemical drift. Registering with Driftwatch, Beecheck, Cropcheck and Fieldcheck platforms communicate with many producers.

In our early days of beekeeping it wasn't uncommon to see Susan out with her white flag waving around. We're still here for your local honey needs and look forward to seeing everyone this fall after extraction at the El Dorado Farmer's Market.

January in Kansas usually would have honey bees alive but clustered inside their hives. They do this to generate heat by flapping wings together to keep the queen and brood warm. In this warmer and unusual day, some were taking cleansing flights" when we were out feeding hives after the rainy morning.
