It isn’t.

The real problem is what happens when the rain actually arrives.

KIDS PULLET FUNDRAISER - Pullets Need New Home
Our kids have been raising a group of Black Australorp pullets and are now looking for good homes for them.

These are one of the best backyard chicken breeds, especially for Southern Utah.

Support Local Kids Educational Trips. Help our kids hit their goal and skip the "heat lamp stage" for your backyard flock.

Most people want fresh eggs but hate the mess, smell, and risk of raising chicks from a box. You want strong birds that are ready for the coop today.

The kids have been hands-on with this December 6th hatch for 3 months. These Black Australorps are fully feathered, past the brooding stage, and have been raised with daily attention and proper nutrition.

✔ Healthy & Strong: No fragile chicks—these are 3-month-old started pullets.
✔ World-Class Layers: Australorps hold the record for egg production.
✔ Kid-Raised: Handled daily so they are calm and family-friendly.

This is a small group raised specifically for this school and educational trip fundraiser. Once they are gone, this project is closed.

At VermiGold Farm, everything we do is rooted in stewardship, responsibility, and teaching our kids how real life works.
This season, our kids are raising a small group of Black Australorp pullets as part of a hands-on learning project. They’ve been involved from the very beginning, helping with daily care, learning consistency, patience, and what it means to follow through on a commitment.
This project also supports their school and educational trips, giving them the opportunity to earn their way forward through real work on the farm. It’s not about volume or speed. It’s about doing things thoughtfully and with intention.
We keep our operation small, transparent, and grounded in respect for animals, land, and family values. We’re always happy to have conversations with people who care about where their food comes from and how farms are run.
