Oof. What a year. This post has been a long time coming, but just haven’t been able to get around to it.
First off: to all the ranchers, farmers, artisans, chefs, customers, enthusiasts, and everyone else that makes this mad thing run- thank you.
We’ll be taking a long and long-overdue break from the daily shop things for awhile in the new year. We will update with happenings at the shop and around the farm as we have inspiration.
New around the folly: we recently brought a flock of goats onto the farm, and we think that’s kinda neat (goats folly??). Quite a few of them are pregnant, so expect some baby pictures (and if anyone wants to come milk goats… we have no idea what we’re doing). We intend to graze them in the spring alongside our sheep. Hopefully the goats will eat what the sheep don’t, evenly grazing the pastures and helping with the overall health of the soil.
Also, fresh goat meat in the shop this week, alongside some fresh polks folly pork (since a lot of people have been asking lately if it’s all our pork. Yes, yes it is. We brought in some pigs from another producer a few years back in attempts to expand our market, but turns out nobody wanted it if we didn’t raise it. We do occasionally bring in bacon from Colorado. At least we’re honest??).
We stocked up on prime rib ($20/lb) and whole tenderloins ($23/lb) (for all those Wellington enthusiasts out there) from our favorite folk , so make sure to swing by for your holiday meal prep. Also running a sweet deal on steak boxes (25 # for $350. Even amounts of tbone, ribeye, top sirloin, ny strip, and flatiron. Available while supplies last.).
Stay warm. Be kind.
