Community Share: Northeast Iowa Food Bank

COMMUNITY CHALLENGE ANNOUNCED FOR NEIFB: Black Hawk County, the City of Waterloo, and the City of Cedar Falls have come together to launch a Community Challenge for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. Together, they’ve committed $100,000 to support families facing food insecurity, and they’re asking the community to match it.

More than 17,000 people in Black Hawk County face food insecurity, including 1 in 5 children. Local food pantries have seen sharp increases in visits and new households seeking help, even though the shutdown has ended. The need remains.

We are accepting Scholarship Application.

Because of generous donations given to the Rooted Carrot Co-op Market’s Scholarship Fund by some amazing Co-op supporters, we are excited to announce the 2025 Rooted Carrot Member-Owner Share Scholarships Applications are now open. We will be accepting applications through Friday, November 28th, 2025.

These Scholarships will cover the first $100 toward the Membership cost for our friends who would like to become member-owners but cannot cover the total $200 member share cost.
