Today was a really good day.
Robert and I finally got a little bit of much needed “us” time. Life at Serendipity Farms has been stressful, financially draining, and exhausting lately. Most days it feels like it’s just hugs, kisses, and straight back to work — but honestly, we wouldn’t change it for the world.
Today we got to slow down for a couple of hours, spend time together, and enjoy time with friends before heading back home for the grind. Once home, it was right back to farm life — setting up solar fans for the rabbits so they can stay cool and comfortable during these hot summer days, moving baby bunnies into bigger habitats, and making sure everyone is happy and cared for.
Sometimes I miss the freedom we used to have. But then one of our rescues looks at me with those trusting eyes, and I’m reminded why we do this. They are safe. They are loved. They are happy. And that makes every sacrifice worth it.
We have been so incredibly blessed lately. We’ve met amazing people, seen familiar faces, and been surrounded by kindness and support. Tonight we’ll go to bed exhausted, wake up, and start another long 40+ hour work week. Next weekend, if the weather cooperates, we’ll be installing the new goat barn and paddock. Hopefully some of the volunteers who reached out will be able to come help, and maybe a few more animals will find their forever homes through adoption.
And after all of that… me and my love are finally going dancing. ❤️
Dancing used to be one of our biggest passions before the rescue took over so much of our lives. We’ve missed our last three date nights trying to make sure everything and everyone here is taken care of. But I couldn’t ask for a more amazing partner. I’ve never experienced this kind of love before — someone willing to sacrifice so much for the good of others, someone who works endlessly beside me without complaint.
My heart is so full tonight.
I have the most amazing friends, the most amazing family, and the most amazing supporters. Thank you all for believing in us, supporting our mission, and helping make these second chances possible. ❤️
