Happy Independence Day! You are free to join us this evening for deep fried boneless beef nuggets! Bring a side or a dessert and your lawn chair!
Throw your shotgun and some ammo in and you can shoot some clay after we eat.

We’ll try to eat around 5:30. Holler for directions or a pin.

It’s that time again…
We’ll fry mountain oysters on the 4th along with smoking some other meats. Bring a side or a desert and join us!

Bring your shotgun and some ammo, we’ll shoot some clay!

Bring your fireworks, we’ll throw them in a pile and Colton will light them at dark or you can light your own.

You’ll need a lawn chair, we’ll try to begin eating around 5:30. There’s a/c inside and cold drinks in the cooler. Come early and visit.

If you need directions, holler.
*rain or shine
*Don’t forget, the grouse creek bridge is still out.

We are rejoicing this morning at the sight of this water! It has been over two years since this draw has ran water out of the pasture!

We still have ground beef that is looking for someone to bless… see the video below and nominate someone! We’d love to help! So far, we have newly single parents, newlyweds, and folks with sick kids. Do you know someone we could bless with some beef?

09/01/2023

Update: We are still looking for people who need a break from their grocery bills. If you know someone that would be blessed to have some beef in their freezer, shoot us a message!

I’m convinced that most of our anxiety, stress and depression are either caused by or fueled by a “heart curved inward”.
Interest is high, fuel is high, groceries are high, I think it’s expensive to even breathe right now! To help keep our own difficulties in perspective, we’re looking for some people to help.
1. Watch the video
2. Nominate one person / family for us to help
3. Be willing to deliver 20lbs or so of frozen ground beef to them if we can’t get to it
If you’d like to remain anonymous, we’ll do our best.
4. Find someone that’s “worse off” than you and help them out!

Deadline is September 4, 2023
Their beef is scheduled for the locker mid September, so please be patient.

Update: September beef is sold. Thank you!

Smoked a Bates Beef brisket for Christmas dinner! Delicious! We even tried a new rub that I recommend! It is really black so it’s a little different going on, but it is GOOD on brisket!

Merry Christmas from our herd!

What we are about:

We appreciate your interest in Bates Family Beef!

With very few exceptions, our beef is all-natural (no added growth hormones), antibiotic free and pesticide free. Instead of relying on chemicals, we have been breeding specifically for easy fleshing, high marbling beef for years. As our breeding program is headed in the right direction, we have begun focusing more attention on our soil health and on forage quality using regenerative grazing practices. We are working hard at these practices for the sake of our soil, our plants that grow there, our beef that consumes those plants and our families that consume that beef. God has created an intricate system, and we are enjoying the return to that design.

Farm fresh beef will be very different than typical store counter beef. As our beef is not fed or finished on dried distiller’s grains (DDG’s), you will find that Bates Family Beef has far more beef flavor. There is never water or “solution” added at packaging, so the meat will be more firm to the touch. Many tests have shown that grass finished beef is far superior in nutrient density over grain finished beef and when cattle are fed nutrient dense, diverse forage grown on healthy soil, the same tests show that beef to be even better!

We look forward to seeing our livestock improve our soils, our soils improve our plants and our plants improve our beef.
