The loss estimates are correct!!!

Congressman John Joyce and seven other House colleagues wrote in a letter to USDA Sec. Brooke Rollins that, "Early estimates from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture show that Pennsylvania’s specialty crop industry could face between $150 million and $200 million in economic losses due to these low temperatures."

Dwight & Lisa celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on April 30th. And Happy Birthday to Dwight, who celebrated 67 on May 18th. With both sets of our parents gone and as empty nesters, we are now the older generation. We haven't gotten those rocking chairs out just yet!!!

Dwight recently attended Lisa's son's wedding in Stresa, Italy. Dwight really enjoyed the food in Italy, because he got to sop up his plate with his bread. Lisa won't let him do that in France 😂 A highlight was seeing the Swiss Alps from both the air and the ground. We could not do everything we do without the help of our friends who house-sit, cat-sit, and farm-sit while we are away.

A win for Dwight is a win for Franklin County.

It was great to recognize Dwight Mickey again during the Mid-Atlantic Fruit & Vegetale Growers Convention. Dwight is a 4th-generation fruit grower who owns Shatzer Fruit Market in Chambersburg and was the winner of Best Bushel at this year’s Pennsylvania Farm Show.

His dedication to quality, stewardship of the land, and commitment to truly set the standard.

I also want to thank all of our fruit producers across the Commonwealth. Your hard work—often spanning generations—puts the best products on our tables and keeps our industry strong.
